I am so glad I took the opportunity to read and review this book when I was given the chance! I absolutely loved it! It's witty and sexy and the characters are tons of fun! There's a lot of drama both in the gym and tattoo shop and with the characters, so there's always something going on. I pretty much guessed the mystery with Quin's gym and the vandal right off the bat but it still added that suspense element which made the story better. Although I am new to this series and this author, I am loving her style and I look forward to discovering more of her books very soon.
Quin and Kellie were both great characters. Both are strong and independent and have really strong personalities and they both take their responsibilities very seriously, so they were a great match for each other. And it's was really nice to have such a 'kick butt now and take names later' type of woman to read about. Most of the time you don't get a character like Kellie and it was a nice change for me. Not only does she care for her sick grandmother alone but she also helps run her own business. I really enjoyed her! Quin is a sweetheart, an awesome dad for sure and it was really nice to have a man who is co-parenting with his daughter's mother so well. That made me love him even more! And the two of them together. HO-LY MO-LY it was HOTT!!!
The other characters, mainly Kellie's friends, played a big part too. There's definitely more story there and I can't wait to find out what happens with them in the future. Especially Carly!
This book is the second book in the So Inked series but even though I haven't read the first book this one was still really good. The author does a great job with filling us in on what we've missed and I personally will be going back and reading the first book, Under His Skin, which is Pandora and Brian's book. So if you haven't checked out Sidney's books yet, you definitely should! I'll definitely be coming back for more very soon!

5 out of 5 Licks
The Harder He Falls by Sidney Bristol is a total knock out of a story with plenty of emotional punch. The writer deserves the championship belt for her HOT SEX scenes alone. From the start I was rooting for kick-ass tattoo artist Kelli and ex-MMA fighter Quin.
Kelli has a lot on her plate. She's part-owner of a business and takes care of her grandmother who is suffering from Alzheimer's. No time to date, she makes it perfectly clear to Quin that their relationship isn't ever going to move past the bedroom. Quin, trying to build a name for himself with his gym and become a better father, has a lot on his plate too. He'll steal what moments with Kelli that he can.
Quin and Kelli are evenly matched from their strong personalities to their shared sexual appetites. Their chemistry is explosive and totally believable. I really loved their story! And I want more. There are a whole bunch of wonderful supporting characters in this book. I can't wait to see what Ms. Bristol has in store for them, especially Carly.
There's a suspense element to the story that isn't all that suspenseful, but I really didn't care because I was so caught up in the romance. You'll be knocked out too.
I really enjoyed Kellie. I loved how strong she is. She's tough, independent, strong-willed and doesn't take grief from anyone. She has essentially been abandoned by her mother but she is very close to her grandmother. Now that she has Alzheimer's and doesn't remember who people are anymore, Kellie starts to feel alone. I loved how Quin was so accommodating to her but he also didn't let her get away with anything either. He let her have space when she needed it but he was still there for her when she needed a shoulder. I enjoyed how their relationship developed from what was mostly friends with benefits into a relationship as they spent more time together.
The secondary plot with the vandalism was pretty easy to deduce. I had the perpetrator pegged almost from the get but I did like how Quin handled that aspect. I would have liked more information on what happened with Quin and his old boss but after they had a fight there isn't anything more mentioned about him or any of Quin's fighter's. There are also a few other questions I have about character's that are left hanging; Carly, Mouse, Jacob, Autumn, Mary, Sam. I heave a feeling some of them with be given their own book and maybe we will get more of a conclusion for the secondary characters.
This is the second book in the series but since I didn't read the first one, I don't think they have to be read in order. The previous book was about another couple that is in this book but Bristol gives enough of a background so that the reader isn't lost if they read this as a stand alone. I will definitely be going back to read the first book and be on the look out for more in this series.
