This book was a great exercise in learning how to pause and reflect on what makes us who we are as leaders and how it impacts those around us. It helps to ground and focus you on what's important and connect better with your teams by looking within.
You could read through the entire book on a short flight, but I chose to read one chapter at a time (no more than 5 or 6 small pages) and then spend a few days thinking about the message, reflecting on what it meant to me and decided how that message would influence my personal brand and leadership style.
I can't say I've seen another book that is designed to let the reader not only enjoy the vignettes but made them just the right portion to allow one to pause and reflect on the lessons. I highly recommend this book to anyone who knows that raising the IQ and EQ of any team begins with the leader.
While reading the book, I tried to decide if I preferred the warm, family-focused stories more, or if I got more out of the hard-driving business stories. In the end, offered great lessons on business and life.
