The ends don't melt regardless of how quick the flame ezposure is, it just catches fire and ruins the fly.
update* i glued the ends instead of melting them and it seemed solid enough. i took it fishing yesterday, and its absolutely worthless, i got maybe 6 drifts on an infamous pink worm tied with this garbage and all the fuzzy fell out of it. i have 8 flies in my steelhead box that i can do nothing but salvage the hooks from, and i would feel like i got ripped off if you paid me to take this stuff. i dont even know what i can do with it.
