I noticed that this boot is made in China. I guess it should come as no surprise... How many clothing products are actually manufactured in the USA any more? Not many. But if you are thinking that Harley-Davidson is totally American-made, well, definitely not where the clothing brand is concerned.
How does it wear? I wish I could tell you in this review, but I had to return the boot twice already because it is sized way too large. What were the HD designers thinking? Do riders usually wear three pairs of thick socks under their boots? Basically, you'll need to order at least 1 full size smaller than what you usually wear. I ordered my usual US size 10.5. That didn't work, so, not finding any other reviews or sizing information on on Amazon or around the web, I went conservative and ordered just a half size smaller. No joy. After going down a full size, I finally got a good fit. Great-looking boot, and feels good after one day of wear.
The Amazon price is good, relatively speaking, though I'm still left to wonder why we have to pay so much for something that is made in China. Perhaps we are paying for the watchful eye of the expert (expat?) Quality Control technicians overseeing the work done there? Time will tell.
EDIT: One year later now, and these have proved to be an excellent purchase. I've worn and ridden in them practically every day. Workmanship totally up to snuff. Love 'em.
Unlike some HD boots these are not gaudy with a bunch of garbage on them. Took a bit to get the right size. Looked at the other reviews, tried on 4-5 styles of HD boots at the local dealership- didn't buy the boots there bought them from Amazon- but did buy some other stuff to support the local shop. Ended up ordering 1 size smaller than I sea in most shoes as that was the size that worked with all the other boors. THey arrived quickly and were way too long. The width was perfect but the length was too long.
Here is where the seller gets kudos though- they handled the return quickly and professionally and had the other boots back out to me within a couple of days. Went another 1/2 size down and the length was right but the width was too narrow but given they were leather and my wife had some shoe stretchers I kept them and after getting them broke in right ended up very happy with the purchase.
