With the new BTS (Blade Tracking System) rudder system in place on all Wilderness Systems kayaks, our aftermarket kits have been updated to utilize the new system as well. Fits Wilderness Systems Tarpons, Tsunamis, Pamlicos, Ride 135, and Cape Horn. Also fits Mad River Synergy.

The installation is fairly easy if you're fairly skilled at and comfortable with modifying your kayak. The most difficult part was (again, limited access to the inside of my hull) running the tubing/conduit from the stern to the foot pedals, but that was more tedious than anything else. I have a lot of experience running network cabling, so I was able to use a few tricks to get around the limited access. With most kayaks, this wouldn't be such a problem because you have more access to the interior of the hull.
Now that it is installed, it's a nice rudder system and works well. It's a big help for improved tracking in a wind, and it's nice to be able to steer a bit while drifting and fishing at the same time. It is a bit pricey considering I paid less than $500 for my kayak new, but it won't be such a large price percentage upgrade for most people who buy higher end kayaks.
