Moving large potted plants just became a one-person job. With a regular hand truck, this job required either strapping the plant in tight or keeping a hand on the trunk to keep it from rolling off the cart to one side. That was awkward, time-consuming, and not good for the back. This handy tool locks the pot in so that it can not roll off. And essentially no lifting. The one qualifier (and reason for 4 stars and not 5) is that it is not easy on more flexible plastic pots, because the prongs of the cart bear on the plastic unevenly. On the other hand, the cart makes moving so easy that it probably makes sense to use a sturdier pot. We are thrilled with this purchase.

This is great for several of my potted plants that are in a hard plastic container that are about 18" in diameter and 24" high. However, it can't manage the heavy ceramic pots I have that are 24" in diameter and 30" high... they are simply too heavy or perhaps too big around for it. I'm glad I bought it, but I may have to buy a bigger one at some point.

I raise tropical plants that must be over-wintered in my heated shed and garage. I have over 80 pots, and hoped this hand-truck would make moving them much easier. It's ok for some things, but not good over rough ground (like my hilly lawn) and often let the pots drop off. If the wheels were larger and not so flimsy, it would be much better. I'm not sure I'd buy it again.

The only reason to buy this is to move very large potted plants because for anything that can be lifted by hand, it's easier and quicker that way than to use this product. There is an adjustable gripper thing at the top which is supposed to dig into the dirt and/or latch on to the rim of the pot but it isn't long enough to get a good grip. There is another part at the bottom which is supposed to grab onto the base of the pot but it's too narrow to grab anything. So the end result is that any large potted plant will be pretty unstable when being moved. I'm pretty disappointed with this pot mover but since I have one 7' tall grapefruit tree that has become too heavy to move any other way, I'll keep it and struggle. Last Fall, I used the Pot Mover to get it from my backyard to my basement where it resides over the winter. I'll try again in the spring when I bring it up and if I have better success, I'll amend this review.

Ok, here's the update to my original review. Well, it works for large plants, but it's not easy. My 7' tall grapefruit tree in a 24" pot wobbled and wiggled throughout the move from the basement and then upstairs to the yard, slipping off the base several times. In fact, I realized that pot is not supposed to rest on he "base" because it's not really a base. The the pot is supposed to slip through it but only pots that are very narrow at the bottom will fit. So all in all, large pots are very unstable yet despite that, I was able to move the plant a lot easier than having to lift it by hand. I'm downgrading this product to 2 stars.

Very well-made and sturdy; more rugged than the photos suggest. I use the cart to move heavy (75 pounds and more) ceramic planters. Would have given 5-stars, except the narrow plastic tires are only suited for hard surfaces; and the handle is a bit short for me: I'm 6' tall, and the 36" handle requires me to stoop quite a bit to balance heavy pots over the axle. A 42" handle would be a welcome improvement.

Very poor design, does not work well on pots of ten pounds or more or soft side pots. Don't even try to more a pot with straight sides as the pot will slide down during transport coming off the top keepers. If the manufacturer would have taken the extra step and installed an adjustable strap to secure the pot it could have been a usable pot mover

My wife has large potted plants that we move out from a sunroom in the spring and back inside in the fall. We have to go up or down 3 steps when moving the pots. The truck's design doesn't give enough lateral stability to the pot

The Harper Pot mover is a cleaver way of moving those awkward ceramic pots that have the larger flowers small trees etc. planted in them. The device itself works great. The hard rubber tires make any movement over uneven ground or large craks in the concrete a bit dicey but it does the job. The only comment I have is when it arrived a small plastic end cover on one of the arms was sliced open and was loose in the box. I asked for a replacement plastic part, but they shipped me an entire new unit. I simply removed the plastic part from the new unit and put it on the one I had used and all is well.
