This author provides a wonderful emotional read in this 2 book set where we learn of a man and see two conflicting opinions of who this man is. One person Grace loves him for all he did for her when she needed him and the Camp she loves and we have Blake who despises him for his own reasons. This Camp is what ties them together and the Island is what may keep them. The discovery and of their feelings for each other causes wild chaos and repercussions and loads of laughs, sometimes. They are explosive and therefore quite entertaining but also at times it's painful too. The swirl of emotions and the wonderful writing bring us a story not easily put down, and good to the last word. A third book would be nice though to finish the story.
While I have never read this author before, his work is refreshing and he writes a wonderful story. I look forward to more of his work.
and this is the review for book 3 the Wedding
Grace doesn't believe she can do this. Blake doesn't know how to release the anger and fear and allow love in. Ms Milly says different. A really cute and fun story about two people learning that they do have a lot of love in them and more importantly for each other. The changes in them are immediate once they relax and accept. There are more truths unveiled and surviving and making it thru is the important thing. A really good ending to a fun series.
“Forever isn’t easy. Love is no picnic.” She studied me for a moment. “You have to work at it every day. You have to try to put her happiness before yours. You have to listen more than you speak. Most of all, you have to show her all the time, every way possible, exactly how you feel.”
“Blake,” my mother began weakly, “telling a woman to calm down is like throwing gasoline on a fire. I can’t even imagine what reaction she’ll have to ‘calm your tits’.” She sighed.
The bad: I would have liked some warning when the second book was suddenly from Blake's point of view.
The epilogue: Zane creates a toe curling, laugh out loud romance that brings the story full circle. I highly recommend it to any romance lover!
The story is a bit unconventional, but it Really entertaining!
I will follow this author for sure...
The emotions came through clearly and the ending was happy. I'm just not certain the writing style is for me.
