I don't know what it is about this game, but ever since we bought it ten years ago i've been going back to it again and again and the fun hasn't worn off yet. It's not based entirely off of the movie like the later ones so there is lots of room for originality. You have to go through obstacles to learn new spells, collect beans in order to trade with students for Wiggenweld potion ingredients and Quidditch equipment, and search for collectable wizard cards in order to access a special obstacle at the end. There are four spells to learn and Peeves to avoid as you go through this game, which makes for an interesting and fun experience.One of the most fun parts of the game was the Slytherin Common Room. You enter as Goyle but leave as Harry, so Harry has to run past all of the Slytherins who are trying to catch him. I enjoy jumping on the couch and watching as 10, 12 people try to ambush me but can't.Other great places you get to explore are Dumbledore's office and the Bean Room (if Gryffindor is ahead of everyone in house points, you are transported to a room filled with nothing but beans!)There are lots of opportunities to dance around the edges of this game by taking advantages of glitches (personally, i think glitches are some of the best parts of a game). I discovered that i could run around behind the Quidditch gate without loading a game by heading up the secret stairs onto the nearby roof, jumping from the treasure chest to the short metal railing, running the length of the railing, jumping on top of the tree, and then onto the gate. Note: Make sure the Quidditch gates are open when you do this, otherwise you become trapped.There is also a way to change the computer code easily so Harry is able to fly around the "set" he's currently in. It's called Ghost Mode. I don't recommend it for first-time players, since once you use this it's hard to play the normal way. You have to find the Chamber of Secrets folder on your particular computer and then the page with the code. Find bDebugMode=False, delete the False, and put "True" instead. Save. The location of this folder varies from computer to computer, so a little clicking around will be necessary.Green code will scroll at the top during gameplay. To access the Ghost Mode, hit the delete button. Hit it again to steer Harry normally and continue the game, as doing this pauses it. To enter a secret room where there are a ton of beans, enter the Gryffindor common room and steer yourself towards the dormitory room door, then drop yourself into the hallway. The room can only be accessed this way.As the pre-game video plays, hit delete and you are now able to fly around Diagon Alley and Privet Drive! At Hogwarts, there are two secret rooms off to the side where the characters that aren't being used stand there doing nothing. Overall, explore and see what you can find and how high you can go. Just remember to save often.I definitely recommend buying this game. It's a must-have for those who haven't played it yet!
