The box measures 9" wide, 4.5" tall, & 4.5" deep when closed, and is perfect for displaying on a shelf. The box is sturdy cardboard with a nice matte finish and metal accents for the hinges, with a plastic latch that can be "locked" with a set of keys. It has a nice hand painted look on the lid interior.
The quidditch balls sit in a cardstock/plastic display box with indentations for each ball, and the balls themselves are a good, heavy weight. The bludgers are about the size of a golf ball and have a similar feel. The quaffle is made of the same material, but larger, about baseball size. The snitch is attached to the box.
The keys and poster are under the balls. It's a little hard to remove the inner box to get to them because it is a tight fit.
And for those leaving bad reviews because the snitch doesn't have wings...have you seen the movie? The wings don't expand until it is removed from the box. Same in the last movies when Harry is given the snitch to keep. No wings there either.
For $18, it's really cute. If you are looking for a life size, perfectly made set, you are gonna spend a lot more money. This will fit nicely on a shelf or dresser, look nice, and not take up too much space.
Now, that being said, I do think the details are nicely done (for what it is). They are painted pretty nicely on the inside of the lid. There is a plastic lock and key that comes with it. ( That's a nice little touch). It also comes with a folded up poster. Although the balls are made of plastic, they are a heavy and sturdy plastic with some good stitching type details. I also like the size. It fits very nicely on shelf or with other HP collectibles.
Overall, it's a fun little set to own (especially for an avid Harry Potter Fan), and it does look good. For the price, you won't get much better.
I suppose if you want a really nice Quidditch Set, you are going to have to really invest some money into it... maybe at a place like Etsy.
I will probably order another one so I can "play" with one.

The set surely looks nice enough as it is coming in appropriate colours and with lots of ornate detail. A set of tiny plastic keys are included as well. So, albeit a miniature version of the actual game kit, it displays very nicely. I must say our daughter expressed some disappointment that the snitch appears to be fixed on the inside of the top cover. However this is just as well since we don’t own any wands or flying brooms so it would be very hard to get that snitch back in the box.
What I don’t understand is that, other than in the literature or movies Amazon sends out these quidditch sets without braces and chains to keep the violent quaffle and bludger balls in place! Yes, there is a small plastic lock on the outside of the box. But you can guess what happenend when we openend the box indoors....
Luckily the set also contains a sturdy poster, that we’ve used to cover up the holes in the ceiling.
And I don't understand which the snitch isn't removable. Yes, it's clear in the product description but there's no logic to that at all.
There are definitely better HP products to spend this amount of money on.
the Sigil on the Quaffle is also faded on one side, like its been thrown around or scratched by someone, as there is no packaging for this item, im assuming ive been sent someone elses returned item that hasnt been checked.
