I will forever read reviews before buying another video game for kinnect. The kinnect is a really cool thing, but some of the games that come along with it can be pretty hit or miss, and as a forever HP fan, I have to say this game is a giant miss. Year one literally has four things to unlock, and the only challenge you encounter trying to reach voldemort before he gets the stone, is the flying keys, and you don't even get to fly around? I finished year one in literally 25 minutes... I was expecting more experience for a fifty dollar game. I give two stars for the graphics, they are vey realistic and well done. However, as stated in a different review, your avatar looks pretty ridiculous, and you have three choices for hair male or female. You don't get to make it look anything like you. With all of the cool scenes and challenges they could have put into this game, it could have been made a million times better and more exciting. Just purchased tonight and will probably be returning tomorrow :(
If your going to put the HP name on something, give fans the magical experience they are expecting.

This is an interesting game. It allows you to experience major scenes in the movie. It gives instructions on what to do to move ahead, and then more scenes get unlocked. We have only done one year of Hogwarts so far, so I guess it will keep getting better. My only peeve is that the first year flew by so quickly - there were other scenes that they could have included.

I love this game and all the fun that comes with it. Pretending to wave a wand around in front of my Kinect is hilarious. The game itself is definitely enjoyable and perfect for any Harry Potter fans like me.

It's great as an abbreviated version of Harry Potter (misses bits of the story here and there; I wished it had more in places because it felt short on story sometimes.) It's fun that you can practice potions and improve your scores on spells, replay scenarios for the best scores, chase the snitch (and punch Slytherins!) among other things, so you can do sandbox if you really want to. I use one of my Harry Potter replica wands for wand work just because it's fun and doesn't interfere with the sensor.) The avatar rendering leaves something to be desired - it really warps your face and doesn't have much flexibility with different shapes of people's faces so I had to play in movie mode. It'd be better if it just used your Xbox avatar, or if it had a better mechanism for facial recognition and rendering... Also when I tried to beat Voldemort with my hands the first time, I had to reconfigure the Kinect because it was having a hard time seeing them for some reason...perhaps it was the game programming? It wasn't as good as it could have been, but as a fan I thought it was a good beginner type of a game. I'd love to see another more open-ended Kinect game with a Hogwarts theme, not necessarily Harry Potter specifically (maybe sequel or prequel in the same world) and getting to explore places in Kinect, use broomsticks, wands, etc, because I personally like the intuitiveness of non-controller/motion control of the game.

This did not meet my high expectations. It was no fun.I proceeded through year one far too quickly. This game also read my motions wrong, and I am a regular user of the kinect. I quit the game at the start of year two.

This is a fun game that Harry Potter enthusiasts will love! It gets players on their feet and moving around. My legs were actually sore the next day, and I am fairly fit.

In the game, players reenact a few scenes from each of Harry's years of school. Some challenges were more difficult than others.

I don't see this having the long term playing power of Minecraft or other games which your kids will want to play on a daily basis. This is more of a once in a while game.

I got this or my 3 kids - ages 6,9,10. They like it and played it with it a good bit. Its really easy and made them feel like they were going through it fast. I tried it and the graphics and play is pretty good. If you are a Harry fan then its a good game. If your looking for a lot of action and the best graphics out there then look for something else. All in all we enjoyed it.
