I love the artists on this CD, and it would be great listening to them IF the correct CD was in the box. Unfortunately, the CD inside was music from the Disney movie, Tron-Legacy. I returned the first one, only to receive another CD with another wrong one.
The distributor needs to get on the ball here.
If I was able to hear the right music I'd give it a 5 rating for sure.

Whew! If you like rural, folksy, fiddly, guitar-strummy music, do yourself a favor and buy this right away. I'll tell you right now, I got more than I bargained for with this album. It begins with a standard but competent first half featuring some classics from the genre, all performed as you would expect with little, if anything, to write home about.
...But you're going to want to listen to it anyway, because it pays out in full force at the end of the album, which features an absolutely gorgeous 20 minute symphonic suite. Besides the great orchestration and recording quality (seriously, what kind of budget did they have for this album?), it reprises almost every single theme from the front half of the record in expert fashion. It's lush, it's fun, it's brilliantly composed. What seemed standard and well-tread in the first half suddenly seems vibrant and new played by whole sections of violins and woodwinds. Trust me, the album is worth buying for the last 20 minutes alone.

Absolutely one of my all time favorite collection of music. This is a very folksy cd and traditional. Love it.

Some old-fashioned fiddlin', a couple of sweet vocals with other pieces, a bit of lovely violin, some with an orchestra - nothing to shock your ears, very nice listening. Pleased to have found Mr. Unger's fiddle.

I absolutely love this CD with the fabulous music by Jay Ungar and Molly Mason. The first tracks are great fiddling music as only they do, and the last 4 tracks are "suites" of music set to symphony arrangements, which I loved!
It's late autumn, and this just became the soundtrack! It couldn't be more lovely!

Jay Ungar and his wife, Molly, are wonderful!! I love their music so much and this CD is lovely! Makes you want to get up and dance! It causes your mind to wander back in time when the world was simple, more at peace, and life was filled with good morals and values. I am 70 years old in November and now want to try and learn how to play the fiddle.
I will order more of these CD's......!!

Just the best! I wanted the theme music from Ken Burns's "Civil War" for years ... and it turns out Jay Unger wrote it! This album includes that music, "Ashoken Farewell," plus a lot more. You can't go wrong with this album.

Ojo ¡!
