NOTE: When you buy the game (which you should if you like Harvest Moon), look on the back of the cartridge, the side opposite the label. If the code "ABCENOJ12" is printed under the cartridge's patent mark, you have Version 1 of the game. This version contains a glitch that does NOT allow you to marry the Harvest Goddess or the Witch Princess. The game is still great, but don't waste time going after the special brides, because your efforts will be for nothing.
I play this on a 3DS XL and the bigger screen really makes this a great experience.
I love the 2D aspect of it. The pace for using tools and picking up stuff is great. Not fast enough to take out the relaxing play but not too slow like later 3D rendered versions that drove you crazy when you try to accomplish something.
The setting is great, there are a lot to do and a lot of accessories which make this really fun. You can save harvest spirits and do mining. How great is that! You also get flying stones, truth bracelet, cursed tools etc... A lot to do and really fun!
This game brings back so many memories and teach me a lot of things again when I first played it. If you feel nostalgic with this game get it! If you feel nostalgic with another one get that one. If you have a kid who play games, give him or her a harvest moon game! It will teach your kid a lot and give your kid a great memory
The gameplay itself is ok. It seems that there is no point for half of the people in the town and they are just filler.
The gameplay gets a little repetitive and boring. I found the Rune Factory series of games to be much better.
Many aspects of the this game just seem to be way too "cutesy" and overly childish that it comes across as more irritating than anything.
I loved harvest moon for the SNES, but this one just doesnt seem to be worth the time. Maybe I will try another game in the series.
Oh, every so often the game seems to freeze up on me as well, very annoying...
