It's about a young college student with a secret. A cute frat boy invites her to a party, but betrays her brutally. Each stage of the story is rushed and there are some elements that defy belief (did she really think the punch at the party would be non-alcoholic? and, if it was so important for her not to drink, why is she not able to taste alcohol at all?).
There is extreme brutality in this story and it is as if the author can't decide whether to dwell on it or skim it, giving the story a strange halfway feeling. It's too rushed and sketchy for adult readers and it's too graphic for younger readers.
Typical Frat boy Jeremy invites Ally to a fraternity party that night. She accepts knowing that Jeremy is a "player" but feeling rebellious of the constant control others have over her life. Ally rejects her friend Hunter's invitation to go camping that evening with the rest of the "pack" and chooses to party with people she doesn't know very well and shouldn't trust.
This short story is a commentary on the lack of humanity one experiences when overcome with prejudice. Although frat boys are known to act like wild animals when grouped together, it is ironic that it is just such a prejudice that makes them act out against Ally ÃÃ,¢" she is an animal. Ally may have been born a shape shifter, but Jeremy and his friends are natural shape shifters themselves; changing from human beings into animals when overcome by their prejudice. This story also shows the results of not listening to parental advice and incorrectly feeling adequate to negotiate life on one's own - ultimately trusting the wrong people. Revenge/Karma are hinted at.

Edit: At the time I wrote this review the "short story" prefix was not present, so I downloaded and read this book with no knowledge that it was a short story. After further consideration I will bump my rating up to a three, because despite it's shortness it was a fairly decent read. I am not fond of short stories because of the lack of character development, so I will keep an eye out for further works from this author that are full length.
Harvest Moon is a Free read at this time for Kindle. It's the only readon to buy it.
The book is a very short 10 min read, that just ends quickly. For a short read it did not end well.
Girl knows boy is bad news and except an invite to a party from him.She says she is not drinking but he gives her drinks anyway. She is than drugged and poisoned. What got me, was that as a shifter, she did not know she was drinking an a lcoholic beverage. She is than taken away from the party. We can only assume she was violated in the back of the van, due to what the writer writes. They leave her for dead, with the hope that the poison in her body will kill other wolves. She is found by chance by her own pack. She wants revenge and goes looking for it. The book ends.
The book is showing an orginally price of $0.99 but it is not worth any price at all for the read. 10 mn an you are done. There are much better book out there that are Free reads and better.
