For me, frustration factor outweighs enjoyment and after 30 hours and just over two in-game years, this is getting put away.
The camera is still the camera. It's an automatic camera that magically swings around without your input, but more often than not, ends up looking in a direction I don't want. You can use the shoulder buttons to swing the camera manually, but there is no way to override the automatic focus.
There are two other camera views: overhead and farming. Both are essentially the same, but farming view keeps your character pointed in the same direction, making it easier to more quickly terraform or farm. But these additional camera views still have an automatic focus and will still swing around. Take an example. I'm trying to dig out a path to the Underworld, which is on the same edge as the town entrance. No matter which camera view I try to use, it still swings wildly and makes it extremely difficult to see exactly where I am digging. Just give us a straight view with no automatic swings.
Objects such as people and animals are impassable barriers. If anything is in your way, you will not get around it. I found this more pronounced in the barn. I have four animals (horse, sheep, cow and donkey) and they can't get out of their way to eat their food. You can watch them try to perform this intricate dance to maneuver around each other to reach their feed troughs. If an NPC or two are in the barn, navigation space is even more limited. I've seen them get stuck in a corner, walking into the wall. The workaround is to either exit and re-enter (rezone) or pull up a menu like the save menu. If a harvest sprite is blocking the bridge to the harvest goddess, well, rezone...
Boulders spawning right in front of my house. Often. Like, several times a week. When I wake up and go to the valley, it's like there was a meteor shower, last night, and every night. Trees will respawn too. Sometimes you'll rezone on the same day, and where there was no boulder or tree five minutes ago, oh wait, there's one now... It's just too aggressive.
Resource acquisition is rage inducing. You'll need a metric ton of a particularly rare material but the resource node only respawns once every few days. I've long since been at 100% with my selected marriage candidate but I will never get material. The workaround is something called save scumming, which is to save just prior to hitting a resource node, and reloading if you do not get what you need. This should really not be a viable gaming strategy. Another workaround is to use the harvest sprites, but they only work once every other day, and weekends off.
I've mentioned "the work around" at least twice. Workarounds are illustrative of design flaws.
Seriously, the house is the same, in the same location. They once again latch on to the Minecraft-wannabe terraforming and put far too much emphasis on it. Maybe I'm too invested in the classic HM titles, but this one (and the previous one) don't live up.
This one does have the advantage of actually being able to interact with the townsfolk and see your potential love interests.
