So she settles into farm life with her friends and mother and brother, but there's more to the little town she's in, and she's determined to find out exactly what's going on.
Shae desperately wants to fix everything, but first she needs to figure out how to get rid of her collar.
I found this book a little slower, and I felt a bit tossed about as Shae's mindset shifts back and forth. I also found the reading a little rough, as the typos were a bit more prevalent than I remember being in the first two books (though it's been a while, and it's possible I got this on preorder and received an unedited version, as sometimes Amazon does that).
I loved the introduction of the Pomos and the overall message, because Shae is a doer to a fault, and in this book she was forced to slow down.
Overall a decent read and a great setup for book 4.
The characters seem more real now that they have had time for self reflection and growth. If you love character centred stories, this will definitely be something you will want to read.
In this installment of the Shifter Chronicles we see Shae and her friends living on the fringes of shifter society. They have landed themselves in some hot water with El Oso and Shae and Roman find themselves collared which is basically a death sentence. They are living on a ranch with Zans family tending to animals and living in a barn. They discover a family of shifters living nearby and they find out things about themselves and this family they never thought possible.
I don’t want to give too much away but I did enjoy this story. It seems slowly but surely Shea is growing and not a spoiled child. She wants to help everyone but still needs to work on thinking before acting. This book was full of action and self-discovery. I can’t wait for the next installment to see if Shea and her family finally get the answers they need.
