Caleb/Gray and the new drakul Night stay in New Orleans to hunt down a NHE that is in the swamps. Night is still not understanding of Gray and his "tamed" attitude but he's all for hunting. Caleb feels like John is pulling away from him and Gray and wonders what he can do for John when he gets back to New Orleans. Caleb decides to do something special for John but it doesn't turn out how he planned.
I really like the continuing saga of John and Caleb/Gray. The chemistry is hot between the three and you can definitely feel the love between them. Jordan has an amazing imagination and great world building, so each story feels like a full length novel and yet also feels like it's too short all at the same time. I am already excited for the next book in the series. Highly recommend this series as well as all of Jordan's books. This is auto buy author for me.
While I hate to do it, I just can’t give this installment more than three stars. It didn’t have any of the gripping, edge-of-the-seat moments that I’ve come to expect from this series, and I wasn’t left with the “when’s the next book coming out?!?” feeling I usually have. I just felt mildly disappointed and disinterested.
Caleb and Gray fight fears about losing their relationship with John, and start a demon hunt with the new drakul, Night. John searches for answers to his past while danger threatens and Caleb and Gray are not there to help. I would like to see them acting together more in future books as they did in the past!
I love Hawk's works, and I know this year has been strange and really hard for a lot of people, but this one just fell a little flat for me. I still look forward to the next one, because it is a good story and I enjoy reading them.

The plot is thickenning up and I'm curious about what's coming next.
But I think I'm most curious about Night lol I wonder where he's eventually gonna end up. Maybe the author will give him a pair to make a spill off with (idk if I'd like that though) I kind of want him to stay with John, Caleb and Gray, I think he fits XD the more the merrier
