So soft! My original furby from the 90's was furry but you could feel the hard mechanisms inside and it was not too cuddly. This furby of today is well done in build. The fur is like a silky feathery texture and it is soft with few hard places.
Vibrant eyes- the LCD eye feature is nice for understanding your furby, although it's creepy in photos and at night.
Sensitive touch play- with the old furby you had to press it hard to get responses, with this it feels like you are petting a real creature because of its sensitivity.
App play features- it's always neat to use the translator when you first get this furby to understand its wants and needs.
Easy to use- the age is higher on the box, but my five year old doesn't have an issue navigating this toy or the app.
Package is nice, we reuse our box at night to put furby to sleep.
Furby has it's own personality. When we got ours it seemed ordinary but it turned evil hours later. It frightened my daughter and she played with it sparingly for a few days. I tried user suggested tricks to alter its personality but in the end we had to put furby on a shelf, let it sleep and pet it randomly in passing and for some reason it changed. It shifted to a dumb valley girl style personality. Who picked the personalities for this thing? The dumb furby we are currently using says blah blah blah and totally to no end. It's obnoxious. Granted, it's eyes don't turn into demonic looking expressions like former evil furby but this thing is borderline unlivable as it's current idiot self. I just think the personalities could have been better designed so you aren't constantly at war with a moron or demon.
The foot rocking motion- this furby moves... A lot. Ours has fallen off every surface because it tends to move around too much. I'd recommend a 12 inch shelf space or distance to floor when interacting.
Poor battery usage life- we got this a week ago and it's already died once. Rechargeable batteries are your best bet.
The iPhone app is also great fun.. Feeding it and communicating with it. Though, I really would have. Preferred that they speak plain English and not " Furbish", which I find a pain, trying to translate.
Batteries last only a few days though, so I bought rechargeables and that's fine, except you have to press the well hidden reset button ever so often to make them work.
All in all, a very enjoyable toy..
