The game is just as fun as I remember from my childhood. The general game play revoles around both players placing thier "fleet" on a 10 x 10 grid and then taking turns bombarding the other players fleet, attempting to find and sink all of their ships.
The pegs still fall all over the place if you bump the bins hard enough, which makes it important to still play on a stable surface. It would have been good if this problem could have been resolved for the travel version.
All in all a good "old school", no batteries required, enjoyable game. Recommended!
It's quite a bit smaller than I was expecting. The only thing that is bad about the travel size is that the pegs are really small! It's hard to grab hold of them, so we usually just dump the pegs on the table so they're easier to pick up. Sometimes the pegs fall out of the top if they're not in well enough.
Going back, I'd still buy this version. Even though there are a few "quirks", it's better (in my opinion) than spending the money for the full-sized version.

This is a gift for my grandson. I have a travel sert and he loves it. He lives in GA and when we visit them he has to play it with me.Published on December 28, 2012 by Sharon Love
Have not enjoyed this game. Pins are difficult to use and easy to lose. Very hard to see letters and numbers.Published on October 9, 2012 by raymond k casteel

I didn't realize this was the travel size battle ship, which means, the pegs are to small to use. Product is practically unuseable. It is all so unbelievably tiny. Read morePublished on April 5, 2011 by newmomin MT
This was a gift so I cannot say much about it. However, I will say it was much smaller than I thought it would be and I debated even giving it as it looked rather "cheap" and not... Read morePublished on February 27, 2011 by Robert Mocklin
