Players can also incorporate play of these games into a grander gaming experience with Family Game Show Mode. In this mode players import their favorite Miis from their Wii into a game show hosted by Mr. Potato Head. Movement of individual Miis around the game board is linked to success in shortened play sessions of the five games. Players take turns spinning an in-game wheel, which chooses each game session, with the first player to make their way around the board winning. The game also features a mini-game option allowing a single player to unlock additional body and face pieces to customize Mr. Potato Head as they like.

Key Game Features

  • Play with your Nintendo Mii in the Hasbro Family Game Show.

There are past memories galore for the adults from the live games that are included this video game. Many of the classics are included: Connect Four, Battleship, Yahtzee, Boggle, Sorry, Operation, Jenga, Connect 4x4, Bop-it, Pictureka.

They are set so it takes work to master them, which keeps the players interested.

I especially like these because it helps develop the cognitive skills and fine motor control without the violence of the typical games. It's important to come with the expectations of a different experience from the board games, similar to reading a book and seeing a movie with the same title. The games are based on the board games, but the experience will be different. Both are enjoyable; just different.

My family and I all love this game. I like the Yahtzee and Sorry the most. It is a good way to get all the family together and play a game and when you are done all you have to do is turn the Wii off...no mess!

We have been having a great time playing all the games. Some of the games that I do not like or know how to play; then my children enjoy. I like the fact that several of the games are old school games that they have updated to make fun for all. My youngest child is 6 years old. I also have a 8 year old, 12 year old and 16 year old. It is great because with the games age really does not matter much as to how well you will do with the game. On the negative side; I would have to agree with many of the past reviews that do not like the battle ship game. It requires that the other person not look while you place your pieces. Only way the is really fair is if you have the leave the room or something. I guess if you do that it can be still as fun as the other way to play it. Also Jenga is kind of crazy to play. My daughter who is the best at most all of these games; was not able to really get this one and I definetly could not play it. In the games defence; we have never really like to play the really game of Jenga. My 12 year old has played the other really version and she states that she actually liked it. We really enjoy the game over all.

I waffled between a 3 and a 4 - settled on 4 stars. We have only played a couple games as a "Family" most have been as single player. Tried the Sorry, but really confused as to how it works. Doesn't seem intuitive at all. I'll go back through the tutorial. Some of the games - especially Yahtzee - there are no second chances once you click. So if you are a bit wobbly pointing with the remote, you are screwed. Also on that, it seemed that you could be dead on with your selection and it would pick something else. Have kind of enjoyed Operation & Pictureka. My wife and I really do like Boggle. The sounds get a bit annoying so the sound goes off A LOT! The lack of choosing established Wii Characters on the 1st set is kind of a bummer. Moving from one game to another is a bit cludgy as well. I think it will be fun for some winter evenings, but it has not "blown my socks off". So glad I found the 2 pack for a few dollars more than buying only 1. I realize that my review sounds over all negative, which really comes back to it could have be MUCH better in my opinion, but it is ok and I'm not really sorry I bought it.

I bought this for my brother-in-law and his family. We happened to be visiting them when they played it, so we got a chance to play it ourselves. We had kids ranging in age from 5 to 10 years old and everybody had a great time!

Love these games. While some games are just fine with Wii controller, others are a bit difficult because the controller can get "wobbly" sometimes (eg. Jenga, Boggle, Operation) Still fun for me. I like the game offerings for FGN 3, but this was a good start.

I purchased this Wii game as a "family Christmas gift" for my family of four. I told them about the game and no real excitement erupted. I thought I had made a mistake but when it came and we played it I learned as well as my fam did they had a blast playing it! I would recommend this game to engage some family fun.....even for the teens!!

We love board games in our family. This is a fun twist on what we already like to do. My boys added their own twist the the jenga game, trying to hit Mr. Potato Head with the blocks. It was a blast.
