I bought this based on many of the reviews I read here and my own memories of playing this game as a child and I'm amazed at what I ended up with. This is nowhere near the game I once played. The pieces are tiny white plastic pieces, and I mean so tiny you can't grip them at all with the tweezers -- which is too big to fit into the holes to retrieve the pieces. It was frustrating not only for a child but also for the adults that tried to play. I know manufacturers don't use the quality of material they used to when I was a kid but I have never seen a piece of junk as bad as this. Save your money and steer clear.

I bought this for my son who wants to be a Doctor one day. I was thinking he could practice on this cadaver before working with a real one. He spent hours trying to get the little pieces out without touching any side wall. I was kind of frustrated the “shock” from his extraction tool touching the sides was not a shock at all but a mild vibration suitable for a 2 year old. They could have made it more effective had they made the vibration strong enough for a 4 year old since the parts are so small anyone under 3 should not practice with it as is. Anyway, I digressed...
My son was able to extract all the items from this practice cadaver after a few days of practice. It took him a while to get good and he got frustrated at times. Luckily this practice machine is sturdily built and could take his abusive beatings whenever he failed.
The up shot of his frustration is the amount of money he earns for extracting each item is substantial. Each extraction has an earnings number printed on a card if they do a successful extraction (a pulled muscle is worth $200 for instance). We calculated that he can pull everything out in 30 minutes and make $5200! That’s a whopping $10,400 an hour or $21,632,000 a year!!!!
So he was able to do all this and I thought, “he’s ready! All he needs to do it take this to the medical board of an Ivy League University, show them his skills, and he will be accepted into their medical program, on his way to making millions!”
The medical board of the university we went to was less than impressed and laughed us out of their building. It was devastating. I told my son that maybe his aspirations were a little high for being 5 years old and kindergarten might find his talents more useful.
In the end, this is a great device even though it may not be recognized by prestigious organizations as giving the user adequate experience for the medical field.

The original game received missing the pieces so I immediately contacted the company, advised them of the situation and I had a new game on my door step in just over 24 hours. It has been a blast playing this game again with my grandchild. This may seem like common sense, you order something and it isn't what you expected and the company makes it right. In this day, that isn't the case. The customer service was great and the laughs playing this oldie but goodie was even better!!

Here’s to another generation’s maddening attempts at avoiding that darn buzzing red nose... I used to play this game as a child and took it so seriously. I’m now sharing the joy of this game with a coworker’s twin daughters. There are small pieces and thus it’s not for most 4 y/o’s. But, they are both very mature and will absolutely love the challenge of this game. Because I had the package delivered to my office, I got to watch so many adults’ faces light up as they remembered their own play time with this game. It’s a classic and I highly recommend it for your young one(s).

I wanted this one over the version that Walmart sells bc this one seemed to be more true to the version I played 20 years ago. Seems pretty similar, more cheep construction (and contrary to what the box may say in large print this is NOT made in the US, simply assembled here with imported parts - mostly from China). Whatever, not a big deal to me, we'll see how long it lasts without the 'operating table' tray getting cracked from someone leaning on it... But on the plus side, my 5-year-old loves playing it and it's giving her practice with steady hand movements and concentration, the parts seem to be holding up and the metal sensors are doing their job when the tweezers touch them. So I can't complain too much. I know there's another version on Amazon that's more $ but that stays true to the retro 80's-90's appearance, but this one was half the price so overall I'm happy with it.

Number 1, I received a used game. The pieces were in a ziplock baggy and the game was already used. This one was also a lot smaller than I remember the one from my childhood being. The pieces/bones are so small that I can't even get them out let alone my 4 year old! The game board itself was extremely poor quality. I was so excited to get this game because I remembered it from my childhood but I was very disappointed.

It's been years since I played the version from my childhood, so I can't say what is different besides the picture. Some of my relatives thought the items you retrieve seemed to be smaller. The cards seem like they hadn't changed what they say, which was nice. We bought it to play with my 4 year old. It's too advanced for her to get the items out without buzzing, but it is still a fun challenge for her to get them out. We are very glad to have bought it.

My 6 year old boy likes this toy. Not me so much. It is just impossible to get the bones out without buzzing. It gets very frustrating for kids. We have modified the rule and we allow up to 4 buzzes per try. Someone said this is a good game for adults, trying to play when they consume alcohol trying to see if they can get the bones our without buzzing. It is probably not possible. I don't drink and I hardly get any bones out without buzzing.
