"Paul Bellow has done a great job of building his world and perfecting the fictional mechanics of the game depicted in the novel. This is a pretty good standalone story but with an exciting ending that makes me hungry for the next book in the series--I'm hooked!" Amazon Review

I was curious about the LitRPG genre, being a gamer, a roleplayer and and an avid fantasy reader for years and years. And this one was really fun. I loved the main idea, how the heroes end up tied to a VR MMO RPG and, especially, the effortless naration of the story. The writing is very simple to read leading to a smooth progression.
There is a great twist to all the RPG cliches and tropes that makes the story familiar and fresh at the same time. Would definetely read the next one.
Having said that, it was ok. Not a "page turner" by a long way but not 'instant trash can' material either.
