Reviews of individuals parts of serial can be found at:
I had the opportunity to read each part of the serial individually. If you are not a fan of serials, a reader who wants the entire story RIGHT NOW -- I suggest you purchase this complete collection. The story of Hailey and Cole is a whirlwind of one -- she's the daughter of one of the richest men (who hires Horus Group to help "get out of a bind"), who's family is all about the lime light. Her sister hasn't made the best choices, and now the entire family is tainted. Cole is part of Hailey's security detail and while he's noticed her, he knows she's off limits.
The biggest draw to her, though, is how unlike her family she is.
Hailey and Cole's relationship was one that I loved from page one (times three). Reading about the Horus Group, you can't help but want to know about the other men that Cole calls friends/colleagues, and I'm absolutely positive I'll love each of them, too, but Hailey and Cole will always stand out in my mind. Cole was a notorious play boy who, surprisingly, manages to have a first with Hailey -- who shares a few firsts of her own with him. Cole's protective streak for Hailey extends his working duty and quickly falls into the 'because I really like her' category. Hailey shows her strength time and again throughout the series, surprising even herself.
The BEST part about this complete set is the extra epilogues! I fell in love with Hailey and Cole all over again. Epilogue numero uno showcases Hailey and Cole as simply them -- it's playful and makes me smile. Epilgue part two further drives home Cole's need to protect Hailey, but above all else, shows his love for his girl.
Again, I have loved every moment of Hailey and Cole's story!
Cole Parker is this obnoxious bad@ss and a total @sshole in Part 1, but from Part Two onward he totally stripped away his @sshole persona and become this doting boyfriend to Hailey. Is not really in character and the change was a tad abrupt, but I'm not complaining too much. Is nice to see this lovey dovey side of him and worship Hailey so much.
For Part Three, my expectation was slightly higher because I really enjoyed the prior two. I was gearing up for some great suspense with Hailey being kidnap from the previous cliffhanger. It was a little letdown that Cole came in and save the day without much hiccup. The shadowy thing with Hailey's family left me feeling a little puzzled. I'm quite confused with the development and how Cole's team solved it.
But anyway, I enjoyed the romance part of the story and the sexy time was always the focus of the story for me. It is overall a fun and enjoyable short read. I can't wait for Ainsley Booth to give us more of the Horas Group. Jason definitely had a story to tell.
For me, the characters were all over the place. The plot was interesting at times, but then when it started getting good, there was more sex. I felt the physical connection just fine between the main characters, but that was about it. I got through the book and I didn’t hate it entirely, however, it’s not something that I would read again. I think that the lack of character development and the focus leaning more toward sex than the storyline really didn’t work for me. I don’t mind reading erotica, but I need a strong storyline to be able to fully enjoy reading it.
This is a fantastic read. Ainsley has definitely hit it outta the park with Hate F*@k. Cole and Hailey quickly became my favorites when I started reading this series. I read the 3 parts to this in one day, one right after the other. And this complete story soothed my need for more since it has two bonus epilogues. When I got the complete story I had, I mean Had, to reread it all over again and once I got to the bonus material I felt like a very naughty kid in a very delicious candy store. I cannot wait for the other stories to come out, I have no doubt I will devour those books just as quickly and happily as I did this one.
Sorry, not really, but no spoilers from me. Let's just say if you are a fan of superb writing and some make ya break a sweat sex scenes then thus book is definitely for you.
Most times I wanted to slap Hailey for stupid things and cringed at quite a few places throughout the book. There are good parts and premises but it just needs to be developed more I think. The "complete collection" felt like just one regular length book. So was each part a short story? Confused. That said, however, I couldn't wait for it to be over but couldn't just not finish, as I am a completist. There was a snippet of more to come that I usually look forward to in a book but here, I just couldn't wait to be away from Hailey & Cole.
