James Patterson stories are always worth reading. For, the Michael Bennett and Alex Cross books are the most fun. They are not literary masterpieces, but they are fun.
BLUSH FACTOR There are no f-words and not much other cussing, but some of the street slang might bother your 80-year-old grandmother, though I think it probable that she's heard worse language before.
CLIFFHANGER I wouldn't call it a cliffhanger, but it is not resolved. That's why I lowered my rating to four stars.
BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT is that the Audible version is not reduced significantly if you buy the Kindle version, which I did.
I chose not to include an excerpt, because most people know Patterson's style of writing well enough. I may, though, add an excerpt if I learn that I'm wrong.
Four stars out of five.
book and it ended. The remainder was a promo/preview for the next Alex Cross book.
It's become like the World Wrestling Entertainment where one show is
simply a promo for the rest. Goodbye Patterson !
I loved the fact that the whole family was on vacation & together. An old friend enlists Bennett to help.in her small town. The town wasn't so happy to have a big shot New York detective working the case. Read it , you won't be disappointed.
overwhelming and the quality suffers. The last Alex Cross book was horrible.
Having said this, I find the Michael Bennett books to be the best of the field. He is an interesting character and in this book for example, the out of town setting made for an interesting backdrop for a strong story.
I will keep reading the Bennett books, unless he starts putting out six a year.
