Michelle has a style of writing that's clear and to the point, and "readable" for anyone -- regardless of any previous knowledge of the paranormal -- with only necessary details being conveyed to the reader as she recounts some of the fascinating experiences that have brought her to the forefront of the psychic and spiritual communities. Michelle also takes a bit of time to detail portions of her early life and how it's colored her talents and gifts, as well as how she's become the person that she is today.
It doesn't take more than one chapter for me to know if a book is worth finishing -- and "Haunting Experiences" is one of the first I've read cover-to-cover in a long time, with very few pauses. If you're a fan of ghostly phenomenon, I think you'll find this a treat.
It could, however have benefited from more adept editing here and there. The author
recounts stories from her past encounters with ghosts, faeries, and other spirits.
She does a great job of keeping it interesting, and the stories are quite varied.
I liked it and recommend it to those
interested in the paranormal.
Michelle continues to be one of my favorite authors and she does it again with this fun to read book. Some of the experiences are quite far fetched, as the author herself admits, but others are also very similar to what many people have experienced around the world of the paranormal. This book is a great read if you just enjoy ghost stories, but don't expect to see into it too far, it's nothing more than a collection of interesting experiences that the author has, in one way or another, been involved in.
Believe it or not, it doesn't matter. Sometimes people experience things and you just have to take it for a grain of salt and enjoy the ride of the story. If anything, it sure makes life a lot more interesting :)
Overall, I thought this was a fantastic book because it's much more believable than some book that would try to target my fear. Michelle approaches each situation in a somewhat scientific way, maybe with a touch of religion, but always with an open mind and a bit of skepticism. She does not try to sway the reader to believe one way or the other. And her talent for writing definitely helps to keep the stories interesting. It's a short book at just over 250 pages and there are 21 short stories to ponder from when Michelle was a child to more recent, each unique in its own way. I was very impressed with the book overall and will definitely be seeking out more from Michelle!
