Product Description

Magnus and Julia Lofting (Keir Dullea, Black Christmas, and Mia Farrow, Rosemary's Baby) suffer a tremendous shock one morning when their daughter Kate (Sophie Ward, The Hunger) begins choking. Unsure what to do, Julia attempts a tracheotomy, inadvertently causing Kate's death. The tragedy sends Julia to a hospital to recover, but when Magnus asks that she come home, she prefers to buy a new house in London to live alone. Magnus begins pondering Julia's fragile sanity, while Julia becomes convinced that her house is haunted by the spirit of a little girl. A supernatural fable based on the novel Julia by Peter Straub, The Haunting of Julia is brimming with haunting imagery and chilly atmosphere. Contains a reversible art wrap featuring the original theatrical poster artwork for the film under the title FULL CIRCLE.

Based on the late Peter Straub's outstanding novel, Julia, this film is loaded with spooky imagery and features a haunting score. Mia Farrow is Julia Lofting, a woman that witnesses her only child choking to death one morning. She attempts to save her with a hasty incision that only brings about the child's death. What follows is a slow burn of a film as Julia descends into madness. Farrow is excellent in her tormented role and this film truly deserves to be re-discovered. This film certainly delivers with its share of scares, both subtle and alarming. Horror fans should seek this one out as soon as possible.

After the death of her daughter, Julia Lofting, a wealthy housewife, moves to London to re-start her life. All seems well until she is haunted by the sadness of losing her own child and the ghosts of other children........

"The Haunting of Julia" (aka "Full Circle") is a little known 1977 horror/thriller film starring Mia Farrow in the title role. I first saw this on TV many years ago & loved the story and have tried to find it on DVD ever since. Sadly was only able to find it on VHS, but what a great story. Highly recommended.

One of cinema's best ghost stories. Although the 1970's style is a bit dated, if you liked "The Haunting" or "Don't Look Now" -- or enjoy the ghost stories of M.R. James and Algernon Blackwood -- this is worth your time. It's not a good print, though...

A classic ghost story that I never thought I saw. I bought this and realized in the last few minutes I'd seen it in the theater on its original run. Great movie with Mia Farrow and Keir Dullea.

This is one of my all-time favorite movies. Fortunately, I was able to get it digitally thru Amazon since it is currently not available on DVD or Blu-Ray. Great story-line, wonderful acting, and the creep-factor is super high!!!

I've been a fan of this obscure thriller for a long time. The movie is great but this review is for the digital HD version of it. The best thing I can say about this version is that it's in full widescreen and the sound is good. However, the print of this movie is godawful, faded and full of specks, some sections so dark that you can't even see what's going on, other parts where the screen suddenly becomes too bright and then dark again. Worst of all though is that the movie is NOT IN HD even though it's being sold as such. I have over a thousand digital HD movies and this is one of the worst looking of all of them. I also have an old version of this movie that I taped off of cable onto a DVD and, although its pan and scan, the picture image is 1000 times better than this version. I will be keeping an eye out for Mondo Video and the Canadian Film Development Corporation who put out this horrible copy. At $19.99 (the price of a Criterion collection movie), this is a complete ripoff. If I can save one person from wasting money on this then writing this review was worth the time.

Love this movie! One of the best horror movies of all time. Beautiful scenes, suspenseful, scary plot, and twist at the end. Scared me to death as a child, I even slept in mom's bed the night I watched this at 15 years old!

Really enjoyed the movie, never seen before but bought this imprint version for the wonderful soundtrack as well as the UK release. Simon Fitzjohn takes massive credit for enabling this film to be rediscovered and released, many thanks. Great film, performances and Colin Towns music is wonderful.

Dommage.
