I have Time Warner Digital Cable and do not use a Cable Box. I have the coax going straight to my TV. I disconnected the cable from my TV and connected it to the USB stick, then the USB stick to the computer after loading the Eye TV Light software and following the steps. It would not get 1 channel. Not sure what the reason is behind it but you can't put your cable directly into the computer with this device. You have to use a cable box and change the channels with the cable box remote. Silly.
It's easy to blame the cable company but I think they are the ones who prevent you from doing things the easy way. Why would I need to use a cable box to watch TV on my computer? My TV doesn't need one. By the way, I am using a Mac Pro (Early 2009) and 10.5.6. I returned the TV stick.
