Review by Laura J
I REALLY ENJOYED THE STORY AND I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO READING MORE BOOKS BY KIM KNIGHT. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A REALLY GOOD ROMANCE WITH SOME SUSPENSE, THEN I RECOMMEND YOU READ HAVANNA HEAT.
Sebastian and Melinda's meeting was unexpected and one of those "small world" moments that had me thinking fate came out to play. I really liked how Melinda stood her ground and didn't let Seb and all his back and forth stand in the way of what she wanted for herself.
While Havana Heat was short, it was plenty steamy! Melinda and Seb's romp really steamed up my kindle. Overall, I found this novella in Kim Knight's Romance Set in Paradise ok. I think I might check out some of the other books in the series because there is nothing like a short little escape!
Will Melinda be able to do for him what his psychiatrist couldn't?
For the most part this was an enjoyable read but the writing at times felt sloppy and the dialogue sometimes felt forced and too formal. There were moments of excellence throughout, don't get me wrong.
The police detective and the wedding planner both end up in Havana from London. The sparks are instant between them and things heat up quickly. Whilst Sebastian is there for fun, he feels disloyal to his deceased fiancee. Conflict alert!
There were bits I loved in this short read and I wanted to love it all but I couldn't.

I unfortunately received an unedited version of this story. I was able to get several chapters into it, before contacting the PR Company just to learn that the wrong file was sent. I was thinking "Thank God this isn't the final copy!" But once I received the new copy I stared fro the beginning going back through the story and found the same errors and issues I had with the first read through and just couldn't read any more.
I absolutely hate leaving negative reviews. However, since I had so many issues with the writing I just can't leave a glowing review. This book may be a very good read. However my taste for it was skewed due to the error in files, and then other issues. For other knowledge: my issues stem with this poss marriage company who names their business something so mundane that you imagining the owner is a frumpy acne ridden faced old hag who will never get married herself so she helps others get their dream wedding. This is not who I believe the author is attempting to have as her hereon, unfortunately that's how I see her due to the writing. Wish I could give it more stars!
