Those who love the series, good for you. Just not my cup of tea.
BBQ, Bikers and Murder:
The characters are very well developed. You learn so much yet the intrigue of these people leaves you wanting to know more. The action moves at the perfect pace.
This story will grab your heart and squeeze. Each of the characters has a past that makes them very realistic.
Baby Back Murder:
The second in the Hawg Heaven Cozy Culinary Mysteries does not disappoint! The story moves along at a nice pace and the new characters are introduced well. Red herrings are peppered throughout the story and you don't want to stop reading.
Nacho Usual Murder:
Another fabulous addition to the Hawg Heaven series! Rosalyn's encounter with a stranger at the restaurant leaves her feeling unsettled. This feeling only intensifies when she receives a bouquet with a frightening poem and no signature. In the midst of the real possibility that Rosalyn has a stalker Ryan struggles with the fact that he may lose his perfect grade point average due to his teacher's refusal to accept a late paper. His mother is ready to fight the school for him. What else could go wrong? More than Rosalyn could possibly imagine.
Hawgs, Dawgs and Murder:
After a long day filled with private memories Rossie breaks down alone on her wedding anniversary. After imbibing in a glass or two of wine too many she heads over to apologize to her neighbor. Her visit is brief and she remembers little of it when she wakes up late the next morning. She spends some time recovering at home before she heads off for an errand on the way to the restaurant.
Rossie needs to drop off tax forms to her accountant. When she arrives at the office she is greeted by police cars and yellow tape. Ruth, her accountant, is standing outside. Rossie approaches the distraught woman to offer any support she could. Unfortunately one of the other workers in the office has died at work. Rossie offers to feed everyone from the office and heads over to the restaurant. When Ruth arrives at the restaurant for dinner she shares with Ruth her fear over the death at the office.
This may be the best book of the first four, and they have all been great. The story is well paced and weaves a frightening second plot throughout. The cliffhanger at the end leaves you ready to dive into the next book. Also, the new love triangle is sure to draw lines with fans, unless this cliffhanger points fingers at one of the men (and I don’t want to even consider that, but I did). The main characters in this tale continue to develop. I did miss mention of Rossie’s parents. So, now I wait to get answers. Hopefully readers will not have to wait too long for the next book.
in this box set your getting the first four books in an incredible series.
BBQ, Bikers and Murder, Baby Back Murder, Nacho Usual Murder, and Hawgs, Dawgs and Murder.
The characters are real and well developed.
They each have a story that is very relatable.
The mysteries are well written.
The mysteries are perfectly paced with some surprises along the well.
I have not read a Summer Prescott book I didn't like and this series is one of my favorites.
Murder, mystery and BBQ! A winning combination.
Rossie is trying to pick up the pieces of her life. She lost her husband in the war and is determined to make a new life for her son and herself. Seeing an empty building on the way to her parents she dervishes to open a cafe. This idea becomes the a place that serves all things pork and her livelihood while she also solves murders.
