The tape is printed the same on both sides going in the same direction. I would have thought that measurements on one side would go one way and the opposite side would have gone in the opposite direction.
The tape does not offer measurements in metric.
That's important stuff, too
Granted, I invested 78c into this. I can go out and get this at a dollar store, though. I am reminded of all of these short comings everytime I use it.
Then, why not just thrown the damn thing out and start with a better quality cloth tape measure?
Because I am lazy.
I mean, this will work until I get some extra time to get a replacement. But if that is the best quality I can get out of this damn thing
It is made of durable plastic, it flexes adequately to measure clothes and body parts, and the paint does not smudge. The reverse side has inches alongside centimeters, and zero on both sides is at the same end. 60 inches on this measure is the same length as 60 inches on my construction tape measure, but -- bummer -- the metal piece that marks "0" was places 1/8 inch too far from the actual 0. I moved it to the right spot with pliers and scissors, but it lost 2 stars in the process. Then I gave it 1 star back for being the least expensive option on amazon right now if you need just 1 tape measure and not a 10-pack.
Mine is a pale blue, not yellow. It's exactly 60 inches long and 3/4" wide with well-attached metal tabs on each end. One side is inches. The other side is split top and bottom between inches and centimeters. The fiberglass has a luxurious feel to it and does not stretch. A series of faint white randomly placed parallel lines run the length of the tape as a simple artistic element which complements the design, but in no way serves as a distraction. It came rolled up in a small round plastic container with a label that curiously had been partly but imperfectly removed.
A quality item with just enough esthetics added to make it perfect. What more can you ask for $3.25?
The tape is quite flexible, and I'm going to assume quite durable given its composition. It does have a strong odor, which I imagine will fade over time. The "Zero" end of the tape has a metal tab with a hole in it, if you care to hang it. I compared the tape's scale to my Stanley 30-825 25-Foot-by-1-Inch LeverLock Tape Rule, and the marks are identical. I've used it to take some measurements of my dog, and I found it simple and easy to use. The tape has an inch scale on one side, and inches and millimeters on the reverse. It arrived in a convenient round plastic container for storage. I've tried to upload two photos to highlight some of these features with no success. I'll give it a go again from my Mac Book.
In all, I'm quite pleased with the purchase.
