MATT FRACTION writes comic books out in the woods and lives with his wife, the writer Kelly Sue DeConnick, his two children, two dogs, a cat, a bearded dragon, and a yard full of coyotes and stags. Surely there is a metaphor there? He is 42 years old and everyone he went to high school with is dead now probably.

He won the first-ever PEN USA Literary Award for Graphic Novels; he, or comics he's a part of, have won Eisners, Harveys, and Eagles, which are like the Oscars, Emmys, and Golden Globes of comic books, and all seem about as likely. He's a New York Times-best-selling donkus of comics like SEX CRIMINALS (winner of the 2014 Will Eisner Award for Best New Series, the 2014 Harvey Award for Best New Series, and named TIME Magazine's Best Comic of 2013), SATELLITE SAM, ODY-C, HAWKEYE (winner of the 2014 Will Eisner Award for Best Single Issue), wrote the longest consecutive run when re relaunced THE INVINCIBLE IRON MAN (2010 Eiser Award winner for Best New Series) with Salvador Larocca and, oh, lordy, so many more.

So glad they reprinted this in trade paperback form as the omnibus has been out of out print and waaaay to expensive! This is the definitive Hawkeye run that is the inspiration for the new marvel Hawkeye show coming in December. Definitely recommend picking this up!

Based on other reviews I though I was buying a gem of storytelling. Not so. it's basically really boring with nothing much happening. Kate Bishop, in her solo segments, basically has the mind of an unlikable pre-teen brat. Also, the artwork in those those same sections is horrible. An eyesore really.
Clint Barton's character is supposedly set in the real world. But the guy has the healing factor of Wolverine in this series. And his nemesis, the gang from an unnamed Eastern European country is just a caricature of human beings. It's all ridiculous and stupid. for a book that tries to set itself in the real world of Brooklyn (if such a thing even exists anymore), it fails miserably. Also, from this book it's clear that Barton and Bishop both don't deserve a spot in any Super hero team, not because of their skill (or lack thereof), but because they're just too stupid. The only reason I gave 2-stars is because the Kindle presentation is nice.

This was a good book but it's almost 20 issues in one. normally a TPB is 6-8 issues. This is the entire run. You get a complete story but be ready for it. Thought the art could have been better. also this is NOT the Hawkeye Disney + series.

Love the actual book, both writing and art.
My issue is with the cover. There is so much AMAZING Aja cover art. Why the hell would you use this awfully generic and bland version of the character that's not even represented in the book.
Yes I know that it's an Alex Ross cover. But Alex Ross is stuck in the Silver Age. And this is a decidedly modern book.

Marvel collections are probably the weakest of the major publishers. They really need to put more effort and consideration into their collections. I'm going to wind up selling this one and trying to find the original one with the David Aja art.

The stories, the art, the characterizations, the plot points are all A+. Each and every character is full of life and personality, and this is probably one of, if not the best marvel comic series i've read so far. The mundanity was really refreshing as Hawkeye and Kate Bishop inadvertently took on a local gang that was creating a real estate monopoly and ousting Clint and his neighbours out of their building. We really get to see Clint as an individual, rather than as a just another hero, which i found refreshing.
