OMG everything sticks to this .... its like cooking on an ALL STICK pan. Eggs, Dosa, I think oil may stick to this pan. I am using below medium heat trying to stop it (even though instructions say start at med high and drop to medium) and nothjing helps. Oil, spray oil, butter, nothing helps.

Once it’s seasoned it’s very good for dosas. Try using a cut onion and seasoning with oil on medium flame for resistant-free removal of dosas!

I really wanted to like this tawa. Being it hard anodized I was hoping it will be easy to clean but only after single use(cooked only 6 parathas) oil sticked on the sides of tawa badly and didn't come out even after several efforts. Tried soaking in hot water with baking soda, didn't work either. I have other hard anodized pans of different brands and I have no such problem with them. I am totally disappointed with this product!!!

I have been using it for more than two years.I am planning to another Hawkins futura product,so before that I thought of reviewing this one. After using it more than 5times in a week for the last 2years ,these are what I find
Pros
- Rotis do not stick at all
- Easy to clean and maintain
- Handles can be used with bare hands even when the tava is hot
- Looks good even after years of using
- Worth every penny spent
- No scratches or peeling of layers after repeated use
- Hopefully should last for a few more years

Cons
- Takes long time to reach the optimum temperature to make Rotis
- High flame has to be maintained throughout for cooking Rotis
- cleaning can get difficult if the oil is not cleaned after every use, and also tava cannot be immediately cleaned while it's still hot

Overall a good product and highly recommended

I have been using Futura for years now n there were no second thoughts to buy another product simply because after using a Wonderchef tava (which was gifted), it got so bad in less than 6 months of usage plus the chemical stench refused to let go. So deciding again on a new tava wasn’t cumbersome Cos I trust Futura completely. However what struck me was it’s early delivery than what was promised, again fab. When I opened the package, I was surprised to see the quality, durability, thickness of this tava. Moreover, because I chose a thick base, I guess that added to it being very heavy In weight but that’s still ok Cos quality speaks for itself. I have used this tava today for roti’s and it met much more than my expectations. Only thing is takes a lot of time to heat evenly but I’m still ok with it. I’ve always loved Futura n will continue doing so. Thanks Amazon for a fab product.

Impossible to keep clean

I bought thick anodised aluminium variant. Its a nightmare to clean. U have to clean it every time u use it but even after that it will get dark spots. It will start looking disgusting within a month. I lost all my money on this for I cant even use it for a year, it already looks hideous after a couple of months of use. This happened even if i clean it every time after use with hot water. This pan is too much work. Also the thickness is very high so only buy the extra thick one if u specifically need it or u will spend all ur extra gas just to heat this pan up
