Metal turned gray/ black in one use

I used this idli stand once (3 batches of idli). The idli stand has changed it’s color. It looked gray/ black. I had washed it (no dish wash ) and tried my best to remove this coloring but the metal itself has changed color. I feel if I cook with this idli stand, the metal will react with food and could be dangerous. I am returning this produxt. Do NOT buy this

Idli stand- G10 for 5 Litre cooker is NOT a mini stand. This is a regular size idli stand and of very good quality. Hawkins cannot go wrong. I have used this for decades now.
I am assuming the idli stand for 3 litre cooker could be of smaller size based on other reviews.
However the one for 5 litre cooker is definitely NOT a mini stand.
Hawkins you are doing a fabulous job and thank you.

Great quality idly moulds! I've been using them in my 6 qt Instant Pot and they work really well. The mould completely discolored after running it through the dishwasher (top rack), but given there's no debris left on the food I figure it's safe to use. Ugly, but does the job very well!

Very bad quality. The moment I put in the hot water the stands lost color and the idly plates started losing its color, it also came on my idly. Plates are very small, you can make mini idislies out of it. No instruction or cook book was inside the box. I am assuming it’s a returned item.

I bought the G10 FOR 5 LITER. Size is Ok and is not Mini idlis as some review say, but the cups are shallow and the idlis come out kind of thin. Better to reduce one layer and make the cups deeper.

I bought this along with a Hawkins rice cooker. But, this item is too small. I actually bought to make pressure cooked items for my 6-month old infant and the small idlis were OK. But, if you are looking to make traditional size idlis, his item may not be the right choice.

essential for bachelor cooking. saves time and hassle-free. easy cleaning than compared old traditional stand.
The size specification is 3-liter cooker but stand size is still small to fit 2-liter should have made this little big as it can yield more with less fuel. The handle to hold the stand is not good ergonomy since hard to hold when it is hot.
