From the Author

I started out with hay bale gardening and I have now evolved to an easier way that does not use a hay baler. In fact, my new method has more soil depth than bales. The more depth, the better growth and fruit you will get from deep rooted plants. The first thing I notice from this new way of gardening was the plentiful amount of tomatoes I received from plants grown in added soil depth. The tomatoes kept coming despite the extreme heat from our Midwest summers. It had to be the added soil depth that kept the plants cool and fruitful despite the extreme hot temperatures.     My other books are still valuable in growing in spoiled hay bales and benefiting from the hay that many of us find on our own properties, however, in my new book we are not limited with pillar size like we are with bales. Size is unlimited, although in my new book I do suggest a perfect size for pillars.    My greatest achievement in this new book is that I ended once and for all the controversy of using hay due to weeds. I show two methods to treat your hay and become master of your own home grown mulches like grasses and weeds. I find that mowing my own grass and aging it in the method that I show in my book has given me more than enough hay for my gardening purposes.     In my new book I give you the basics of growing in treated hay that will take the work out of your gardening and actually put fun back into growing your own garden. Gardening should be fun and never a back breaking endeavor. When hay pillars are high and the hay properly treated, back bending is unnecessary and weeding becomes nearly non-existent.    I know it sounds too good to be true, but I believe my book is the best of the best that are out there for small, hassle free gardening. I say small, not due limitations, but due to the abundance of green growth and produce that makes the need for a large garden unnecessary. When a garden produces, you don't need it as large as other gardeners, unless you plan on feeding the world or your neighbors. Just this year, I had to increase the distance of my pillars due to last year's overcrowding. Pillar plants astound you with their abundant growth and plentiful produce.
I wrote this book with a low price in mind, not due to the quality contained within its pages but due to quantity and quality of vegetables that everyone will achieve by using my new methods. The price of the book should entice everyone into gardening in this new futuristic way. Food prices and scarcity is coming and we must keep ourselves healthy by eating organic and clean foods. The healthiest foods, I insist, are those that we grow ourselves. Organic means something when it is true, but only we can truly know the quality of your food and we can be certain of it when we grow it ourselves.
