With the photographs on the packaging material, these were easy to install. Takes about 6 minutes, and 5 of them are threading the hay net loops on the hoop. I've been using these for over a year. They pay for themselves quickly in cutting hay waste. The hay racks have all been replaced with these.

Very easy to load and extremely durable. One horse is a draft cross that attacks his hay and then uses the empty net and frame to scratch his sizeable rump. No issues after a year of daily hay hoop abuse. Great product.

I love this feeder! The metal frame makes it incredible easy to fill the hay net and it is NOT hard to install. If I can figure it out, anybody can.

My minis weren't sure what to make of it at first but finally realized they can get something to eat if they give it a try. They had previously been throwing it out of their hay bins and using it for their toilet facilities so I was throwing out more hay than I was feeding them.

Now that I can see how well it works, I'm going to be replacing all my hay bins with these feeders.

I bought two of these for my two mares last year. An excellent purchase. I'm looking for a third one for the goat and sheep. This is easy to fill, holds what ever size hay net you hang. I used a small net for the one horse who eats very slowly, and a larger net for the other one who needs something to munch on all day. Instructions are not really necessary as the picture included shows how it hangs. 4 screws and it's mounted on the wall. Lift up and out - it drops open for filling. Pull up and in to shut it tight against the wall. I cut a hole in the outside of my run-in shed and the hay rack is mounted to the wall just inside. I open the hatch, pull the rack open, drop in the hay, pull it shut, close the door and I'm done. No wrestling with a hay net and it's so much simpler.

I gave this product a one star for a couple reasons and not because it isn't a brilliant idea with great applications to solving hay net problems. I purchased two hay hoops and after searching high and low in the packaging for directions, finally asked google to assist me. Quite quickly I found others with a similar problem which eventually led me to a Facebook page from the manufacturer who address this strange issue. They are apparently working on producing directions, which in my opinion, are needed in order to install the screws in the correct order to get the hoop to hang and lock correctly. After printing these directions I was able to successfully install and operate one hay hoop and it seemed to offer a nice solution to wrestling with stuffing hay into hay nets. Now here comes the real problem. My second hay hoop has a manufacturing defect which doesn't allow the clasp that locks the hoop to the wall to install correctly. The connector was welded on to the hoop at the wrong angle making it impossible to feed the latch through once attached flush to the wall. Now this is something I would think the manufacturer could work on with quality control or choosing different manufacturing options. I do feel like both the lack of directions and this glitch in the manufacturing of my hoop could easily be solved, but where it fails is by being sold by State Line Tack. Who has, by far, some of the worst customer service practices I have ever encountered. I immediately sent an email letting them know my product was defective thinking they would offer to send me a new one and take back the one that doesn't work. Not so! After numerous emails and being asked to send pictures, I finally was offered, as a one time courtesy to me, a free return. Taking back a product you sell that arrives broken should never be a courtesy or a cost to the customer. State Line Tack you will never get my business again!

This is a great product. My filly had gotten into the habit of dragging half of her hay into the mud every day and then beg for more. Now she eats everything (and slower) and I'm sure I'll see a reduction in my hay bills! My only complaint is that I wish there was a little latch on the pin where the rack drops down to lock. With an armload of hay it's a little challenging to slide the hoop up and keep the latch from dropping down -- minor issue. Otherwise I am really delighted with it and so glad I ordered. So much better than tying and retying the slow feeders like I used to do at my old barn.

Easy to install and use. Wish I could put a few more flakes in at a time but I read the reviews so knew what I was getting. Has definitely helped reduce hay waste as I have one gelding that likes to fling the flakes around to loosen them up.

My horse is hay Hoover! All the other horses are still munching, and he's ready for more. This gizmo, combined with a slow feed hay net, has slowed him down significantly. The hay holder was fairly easy to install, has held up to his aggressive eating style and is easy to use. In fact, I'd recommend for any horse, fast eater or not, simply because it is so easy to load the hay. Pop it open, slip in the hay flake then close and lock. When the hay net is empty, the holder lies flat against the wall. Takes up almost no space in the stall. Definitely gets a thumbs up from me.
