The Kanpeki Elite Series represents a true unrivaled fusion of old world tradition and new world scientific discovery. Witness the exquisite full grain premium leather that adorns each hand-designed and artisan-crafted element of this elite combat glove. Yet the traditional look and feel is but a veneer for the underlying scientifically conceived and tested design. With patented Dual-X Closure technology, your wrist and hands are fully protected and reinforced. With Deltra-EG, the Kanpeki glove rebounds instantly from the most severe blow and never bottoms out. Plus, the Ecta Technology and Y-Volar designs keep your hands dry so the gloves stay tightly in place.

So when I say that I like these gloves, I'm being sincere. The leather really is "exquisite" like they describe on the tag. Although the knuckle pad wraps around the knuckle, it doesn't seem to resist the hand closing into a fist nor pull the fingers of the gloves up off the fingers when you do like most gloves. There is no bunching in _any_ hand position to speak of, testifying not only to a good fit but good profile. The wrist strap is easy to cinch down to get that solid fit quickly--a must for people who don't want to lose time slipping in and out of them through the training day. They offer excellent support without compromising mobility. But the real marvel of engineering/material is the acoustics of these gloves: they seem to bounce back what you strike instead of compressing into the glove or into your hand, giving you padded protection with a bare-knuckle dynamic. If that sounds mysterious, try wearing one of these gloves on one hand and any other glove on the other and strike a few things--bag, wall, post, person--and the feeling, that acoustic, will immediately be clear. As for the aesthetic--hey, _I_ think they look beautiful, but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. If you like black and white with green splatter and some kind of cartoon angry face on your gloves, then keep shopping; but I liked the simplicity and classic appearance of these.
Now, do these gloves cost what they do because of the hype I mentioned in my first paragraph, or because of diminishing returns (a little better but a lot more expensive)? I don't know--I mean, probably the former. But they _are_ really nice gloves. Also, I'm a real person and this is a real review. I don't work for Hayabusa.
Wear in was a bitch though, I have a permanent scar on my right pinky knuckle from the folds on the leather in the stitching being way too hard and digging in for the first week or so of wearing them in, but you notice it is like that for all the products in this line, a lengthy wear in followed with it feeling like it is moulded to your body. Personally it is a snug fit for the medium on my hands, but the kind of snug that feels good and secure, not like when you over tighten your handwraps kind of snug. Even with the wear in, that seems like a fair trade off for what you end up with.
overall a wonderful pair of gloves that you really need treat with care and patience.
