Mallory and Colton are too cute. I'm not really sure why Mallory put up so much of a fight when it came to Colton. She seemed to worry way too much about what everyone else thought. Everyone has their insecurities, I suppose. Colton was so much fun. I loved his personality. He was like a playful puppy. Only you don't have naughty thoughts about a puppy, but you sure do have some about Colton. Whew! Then there's Tanner. I didn't like him at all, but he was a decent distraction in the plot. I really wanted to kick him in the shins and other sensitive parts though. I thoroughly enjoyed Hazards of a One Night Stand. When it comes to reading Alyssa Rose Ivy's books, you really can't go wrong! The ARC of The Hazards of a One Night Stand by Alyssa Rose Ivy was kindly provided to me by the author and Ink Slinger PR for review. The opinions are my own.

If you're looking for a quick read that satisfies, this is your book. Unlike some of its counterparts, this novel is for those who want to read a romance without the angst but still enjoy the N/A good stuff*;-)

So the actual plot was kinda cute. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy, they finally get a chance to see what happens between them.

*possible spoilers*

Except it felt like I was reading a 14 year old girls diary. The dialogue was just...too immature. Maybe I'm giving 18/19 year olds too much credit. The only reason I finished the book was to see what happened. I was waiting for a blow out between Colt and Tanner too. You'd think for a shady guy like Tanner, it was inevitable. But I was mistaken. the whole thing just seemed rushed and predictable. Like I said, a cute story, it just didn't pull me in at all. Mallory was too wishy-washy for her own good, Colt was just super positive everything would work out. Her dad just...kinda sucked. He was just so one dimensional. Things happened, and we're done two lines later. Quick read if you're looking for that. With the much coveted HEA. Just kind of meh all around.

During her last week of summer vacation from college, one thing leads to another, and Mallory ends up sleeping with her ex-boyfriend’s brother. The last thing she needs is to have one more connection to this backwoods town and that is exactly what Colton would be. Thinking she got away with a one night stand, and might finally be moving on from the mistake, Mallory runs into Colton a week later at her college. Come to find out he is attending school there too. Mallory must determine if her romp in the hay with Colton wasn’t necessarily a bad thing or if she should move on with older Tanner, someone who will help her forget all about her small town past.

Mallory is about as snarky as they come. This girl could hold her own with Tanner while he heckled her to no end. And while I did love Mallory, there were times I would get tired of the way she was treating Colton. I kept waiting for him to say enough is enough and move on. But being the irresistible guy he is he stuck by her, patiently waiting. And that just made me love him more.

From the start there is this chemistry between Colton and Mallory that is instant, yet familiar. Even though they obviously grew up together, both liking one another, we didn't see that past. We just heard about it. But you could tell from their interactions they were comfortable with one another and it showed through the author's writing. So scenes didn't seem pushed or awkward. I really loved them together and rooted for them the entire time. Oh yes, the romance was there and I loved every ounce of it.

Now, while THE HAZARDS OF SKINNY DIPPING rocked my socks right off, this one was excellent too. I loved it, just not quite as much as Juliet and Reed's story (who also make several appearances!) But this one definitely was a great read and I am so excited for you all to share in its greatness too! A must read and a definite recommend! 5 amazing stars!

The Hazards Series is built around friends, and sorority sisters, at Harrison College in Charleston, SC. Each book includes the circle of friends. The books are also about college life, and the revelations that those experiences bring.

“One small town boy, one girl who wants more, one roll in the hay…”

This story features Mallory. When reading her story, I first thought her to be rather superficial. Rather than follow her heart, she worries what others will think. Embarrassed by her humble upbringing, she wants to be more than some nobody from a small town. However, there is so much more to her than that.

Mallory’s ideas are skewed by a father who ran away to the city and a boyfriend who shattered her heart. She feels an unworthiness that she associates with her hometown. How can she possibly fall for her high school crush who just started college at her school? Impossible, right?

During her sophomore year of college, Mallory learns a great deal about the whos and whats that are important in her life. She needs to see herself for who she is, not as some people think she should be.

I like this story. It speaks to believing in your own self-worth, living your own life, finding your own happiness, and then holding onto it. Author Alyssa Rose Ivy delivers all these lessons in the form of great storytelling. I didn’t even grasp all of this until I finished reading and then reflected on what I’d read. 5 stars
