Zach, party boy and self proclaimed slut finds his HEA with a patient and loving Aaron. There's so much that these two beautiful men have to overcome mostly in that Zach has never had a relationship nor has anyone ever expressed a true and honest desire to just love him. Just him alone. The sweetest part of this beautiful story is watching Zach fall and that fall is utter and complete.
Remember how I said there are moments when the character talks to the reader, well those moments when Zach speaks to you are funny, witty and so sweet you'll wish you could reach through the book universe and hug him and in some places slap him silly for being such an idiot. But like I said watching him fall is such a joy and it makes your heart hurt for how happy their happy ending is.
Bonus, since I also listened to the book the narrator Alexander Collins...holy moly..his voice is amazing. I'm a huge Michael Farioulo fan and this guy ranks right up there with him so yeah Kudos on that score cuz the level of passion he brings to the story is not to be missed.
Enjoy the ride!
And that is a perfect description for this book. Zach, a city slut with a childhood history of abuse and Aaron, a big, tall, gorgeous sweetheart of a man, meet at Zach's brother's house when Zach returns to his home town for the first time in a decade, to attend his mother's funeral. The rest of the book is a love story. A pretty simple love story. Some minor angst, some major adjustments until the pair builds a life together, a life in which each other is "home".
It's a very well-written book and, dare I say it, lovely? It's sweet and passionate and all about building not just a relationship, but a family, with all that entails.
Is it too sweet? Probably. But, you know, in this age of dissension, angst and anger, no one and nothing should be condemned for being too sweet - especially when the characters are so well-drawn, attractive and engaging.
It is, after all, Gay Romance, not a political thriller. And the talented Cardeno C. brings that genre to a polished, absorbing and moving level that rises well above the normal cliches and memes of so many other Gay Romance authors.
If you're looking for something that's just good to read, reassuring and beautiful, read "He Completes Me".
