I started the book at 11 pm and finished at 4.:30 am. So, literally, I couldn't put it down. The format is really cool. All of the chapters are apropos and up-to-date (notice it was published in 2011.) Each section includes a bible verse from Song of Solomon which is essentially a love story complete w all of the makings for a fabulous novel. HELLO HOLLYWOOD, since you don't seem to come up with any original material, it would be great to make a movie out of Song of Solomon!
Then after each verse, there is a updated, ordinary, daily life interpretation of the verse. Then the He Said, She said. Then the authors add a prayer and "Building Blocks of Faith.
This book is about regular people with 'normal' thought patterns about love, human intimacy, 'broken' children and tough love situations, and, even the thoughts a mother has when her son is born with a chromosome disorder.
He Said, She Said will make you laugh at our humaness and will make you cry tears of love.
It will be one of the best investments you can make in your marriage and just in life in general.
Each devotion is written by one author, alternating by gender. I can see that Eddie speaks for many men, even though I am not one. Cindy speaks for many women, just like me. The format works for husbands or wives, even if they do not share the content with their spouses.
The honesty in these devotions was refreshing and revealing. I laughed out loud. I cried. They made me feel hopeful rather than inadequate. The authors are imperfect, but faithful. They are Christ-followers.
The devotions are followed by a relevant prayer, a "Building Block of Faith" statement, and room to journal. What else could you possibly want?
This book is a gem! I will definitely re-read He Said, She Said.

He Said, She Said is wonderful in that, it brings up topics that will allow for great discussions and I LOVE the humor the Authors share!! Not only is this book excellent for your own marriage but it would be an awesome tool if you mentor couples who need some guidance or even with those who are newly engaged! Learning to Communicate is sooo very important and sometimes people just need someone to help open a door !! This book is definitely one that will do just that!
Thanks CFBA for providing a complimentary E-book in exchange for my honest opinion!
It helps to know others have gone through the same trials. Better still is finding oneself drawn closer to God as you read through the devotions.
