Product Description

The Head TiS5 Comfort Zone is best suited to a beginning to intermediate level player with a slow to medium speed swing who requires a generous sweetspot that is easy on the arm (thanks to Head's Comfort Zone technology). Open string pattern further enhances sweetspot without sacrificing control. Comfort Zone is the new patented dampening system made up of a combination of a hard and soft material reduces string vibration up to 25%. The cone shape of the grommets optimizes the sweetspot area on the string. The additional dampening of the ComfortZone provides for ultimate comfort. The sweetspot is enlarged by 20% and ball acceleration is increased.

I was using forearm banding for tennis elbow for a long time. When my old racquet broke, I did an extensive research for a new racquet that provided comfort and control rather than power. I came across Head Ti.S5 and after trying a demo, the feel was so good that I took my banding off. I bought a pair and for the past month I have not had elbow or wrist pain with this racquet. (And I play tennis 4-5 times a week.) The weight is light and the frame absorbs a lot of shock and vibration upon contact. Besides comfort, the larger head size and wider string pattern allow you to generate topspin without much effort. If you are a beginner-intermediate player with slow-to-medium swing, you'll find this a comfortable and easy to handle racquet. Highly recommended.

The ony reason I give this racquet 4*s is because it might be too light for some players. I've played for a couple of years and have started to out-grow this HEAD. It does let you get many of balls back into play, but you compromise ALOT of power. Be prepared to hit several balls longer then you want(ed).

Chose between Head S5 and S6. Both have basically the same in design and appearance. S6 is slightly heavier 252 grams (with gut) vs S5 at 241 grams (with gut) but S6 has larger head area 115 sq in vs S6 at 107 sq in. Opted for the lighter one.

Dear Potential Customers,

I am a college tennis player, and I dont want to sound bais for the players who are not a hard hitter, but I am. If you are a player who is a hard hitter, dont and I telling you again, dont buy this racquet. It is very light. In one of my tennis matches the strings did not broke, but it was the handle that broke in half. Also the racquet could not handle the impact of the ball, which made my shots miss some of mph, which experienced players knows could make a world of a difference in a match. When you play against other power players with this racquets the impact of the ball pushes you back, and prevents you from being in control in the rally, and your on the defense all the time, which is very annoying. My average serve is at 105mph. With this racquet it was at 85mph, and the impact was not good on my wrist. Again I know that many raquets handle are made of wood, but the wood on this handle is extremly light and cant take much force. I am telling you the truth.

My sister has the same racquet and she still has it till this day because she is not a power player. This is not an agressive racquet. Also it has a very oversized frame. It lasted 2days for me.

The best racquet I have ever played with is the Head TiS2. Nothing beats that racquet. Unfortunately Amazon dont have it. I think it is the only racket that is in between for a power player but also provides the best control. Also the TiS2 is very affordable at 70dollars or less. I was looking for an upgrade and I thought the TiS5 was the best solution. Not True.

This is the perfect racquet for an intermediate player. My husband has been playing in the 3.5 to 4.0 range and loves the feel of this racquet. He can put spin on the ball and it's light as a feather.

I've played an occasional tennis game over the last 25 years but never picked it up consistently. I've never taken lessons or really improved on anything so my 25 year old walmart special Wilson racquet was usually adequate. Recently I started playing a game every week and loosing every week to a better player (who also has much better equipment). So I went shopping for a better racquet. I was looking at Racquets in the $200 range and went to sports authority. The guy recommended a few mid range racquets and this was one. I liked the grip (slightly rectangular by comparison to the others), so I bought it. I almost won the 1st week and 2 weeks later I won my 2 sets handily. My serve is much improved, I can hit the ball harder, more accurately, and make far less mistakes since using this new racquet. I'm sure any $75 racquet would have been a big improvement but this one was the most comfortable for me to hold. I don't know if that will be the case for others but for me this is a 5 star purchase.

Amazing racquet! I have been using a wilson hammer 6 for a good year, and felt I need a new racquet. After looking for about 3 months I choose this beauty. It was this one and the Ti S6. Both amazing racquets, this one was a lot lighter then my previous racquet and a little heavier the the Ti S6. The wilson hammer was very top heavy of a racquet, great for serving but a little poor everything else. This racquet is lighter and really helped me with my back hand. I do not have to use as much power to serve the ball and my for back hand. It takes a bit getting used to as I was used to a heavier racquet that needed more power to deliver on the ball, now I use half the power and deliver precise serves and great top spin. Defiantly a must have. I would say anyone from beginning to advance can use this racquet. A great one to learn on.
