Head Over Heels Paperback – September 18, 2012
"This romantic comedy is filled with hijinks and sexual tension that makes for entertaining reading." RT Book Reviews
"Cindy Procter-King is a master storyteller. Not only do her characters invite the readers into the drama, the humor is non-stop. Comedy is a hard genre to write but Cindy Procter-King does it easily." The Road to Romance
"A hilarious story, these characters are full of humor and emotion with Magee's tendency for mess ups and Justin's touching way of smoothing them over. A keeper to be sure." Coffee Time Romance
"What a set-up for a comedy of errors! Everything that can go wrong in this scenario does go wrong, and the reader is well entertained by the comedic chaos. If you like your romance with humor, you'll love this one." Fallen Angel Reviews
From the Author
The first edition of HEAD OVER HEELS was published in trade paperback and e-book by Novel-Books, Inc. in 2002 and re-issued by Amber Quill Press in 2005. This third edition, published under the imprint Blue Orchard Books, has been revised to reflect changes in my writing style as it has developed over the years. Also, the novel has been updated to reflect technological changes in a manner that doesn't mess with my original plot. The story is the same, but a lot of words are different.
The audio book of HEAD OVER HEELS, published by AudioLark in 2011 and available on Audible and iTunes, is an unabridged version of the 2005 Amber Quill Press edition.

Magee Sinclair is in deep trouble. Her father left her to run the family advertising agency, and one disaster after another had her seeing red, as well as red ink on the ledger. Good thing her father is still on vacation, and she can still make it up by landing this account from Justin Kane, who has a chain of bike stores. But Kane asked for a favor in return... Kane is trying to sign up a British manufacturer to be their exclusive US dealer, and he needs a pretend-girlfriend when his regular partner dumped him. He needed to present a stable family while schmoozing the British pair... while mountain biking. Magee lied when she claimed she's an avid biker, and to keep the account she can't back down. But playing pretend-love has the danger of it turning real... Even if she had to fall head over heels... Then his ex re-entered the picture...
I have no problem with the woman trying to save her reputation with lies to help with his lies... but the truth will come out... eventually. That's the fun part of the story. Though the ending was somewhat unexpected.
Magee seems to be a klutz in that cute, funny, adorable way. You gotta love her sincerity and dedication, but she's just not very good at lying, which makes for an entertaining show. What torture to pretend to be someone's girlfriend! Yet each couldn't deny the growing attraction for one another.
Witty and Enjoyable! A sweet, little romance.
What I didn't like: It was implausible after such a short time for the H to change his values of a lifetime. I know the author wanted us to think it was the girl but even though I'm romantic, it needs to be credible. I hated the ex-girlfriend and I think it said more about the H and his values than it did about the ex (who was awful). How could he have been so seriously committed (as in monogamy etc) with such a bimbo?
Ah well it is light romance and a nice easy read anyway.
I received a free copy of Head Over Heels by Cindy Procter-King and this review was given freely.
A strong sense of family duty, and a ingrained need to give her all in any situation has Magee agreeing to impersonate her client Justin's ex-girlfriend. Sabotage, Irony, some episodes of clumsiness, realistic characters, and attraction leading to a happy ending make this short sweet romance an interesting and quick read.
