Book 2 ended with a sudden massive over reaction from Seans Brother but then this book started off quite weak, and then the over the top hatred from Bailey was just weird as was the speed in which his complete hatred suddenly stopped. Yes jealousy and hurt can make people behave in unusual ways, but I dont know, it just felt all wrong.
This series lacked a story, sure it started great with the stalker and shooting, and them falling in love, but then all just fell very flat, there wasnt any excitement or key event that kept you sucked in, it was just a bit of soft romance.
Dont get me wrong, I love the authors, some of my fav books have come from them, this one and its series, just didnt do it for me.
Sean and Xander were the couple that never should have happened but they're also one of the sweetest. Everything is so effortless between them. They just fit. There's no ego or jealousy. Even when they argue, you can feel the love between them.
That's why Bailey's reaction to their relationship made me so mad. I can understand him being upset that his brother and best friend hid things from him. After all, Bailey values honesty. But his reaction seemed way out of proportion and not very Bailey-like. He's always been the sweet one. But as I kept reading, it became more and more obvious why he felt the way he did. And when I thought of it that way, I finally understood.
I love that Ella makes me feel like her characters are part of my family. I feel so protective of them and want to punch anyone who hurts them. I hope she never stops making me feel that way.
Headlines is the third and final book in the Prime Time series. It shouldn't be read as a standalone. You need to read this series in the order the author intended. You'll miss to much of the back story and it is so worth it!
Sean and Xander pick up where Breaking News (book two) leaves them. Bailey, Sean's brother and Xander's best friend found out about the relationship. Bailey isn't happy and feels betrayed. Sean and Xander want to do anything they can to get Bailey to understand how they got together and see that the feelings they have are real.
Sean and Xander are finding balance within this new relationship. Xander is realizing Sean is everything he needs, He calms him in a way he never knew he needed. Sean's coming out wasn't has earth shattering as he thought it may be. He doesn't care what anyone else has to say as long as he has Xander by his side he'll be fine.
I loved seeing the growth of these characters and their relationship. I know this book was highlighting Bailey and his "issues" with Sean and Xander but he just came off as jealous and super petty. It honestly annoyed me more than anything, but it didn't take away from Xander and Sean I am still five starring this one! Sean and Xander's happily ever after was everything I needed for this couple!!
I can't wait to see what Frank has up her sleeve next!

I shouldn't have worried as Ella never lets us down. Her characters are relatable and face the same problems and get into the same situations as we do. Every happily ever after is worked hard for and each character must find their own way while coming together to get the happiness they deserve.
I liked Sean, he is a hard-working detective who always puts everyone first and even contemplates leaving Xander just to keep the peace between Bailey and Xander, who have been best friends for over three decades. He was willing to sacrifice his own happiness just to keep their friendship.
Xander is a man of honour who knows who he is and what he wants and isn't afraid to go for it. They are complete opposites, but they work and are a very sexy couple.
This was a great ending to their story, however, I am sorry to see them go and hope they come back and visit soon!
