But a week or so of frantic Googling and Amazon searching led me to this case and I love it. The old wallet case was just a flip case, my cards eventually ended up a little loose in it. But this is a HARD case with a secure sliding door on it, that's ridiculous and awesome. Plus it has rubber on the back at the top and bottom, so it doesn't slip and slide when you put it down somewhere.
It significantly increases the thickness of your phone, but the Note 4 is already a really big phone and I doubt most people would find much of an issue with the extra size. For the ability to keep all your important cards inside it, it's not a bad tradeoff, plus in my opinion the phone without a case doesn't really feel very solid, it's pretty thin, so the increase in thickness feels right to me. All the ports are fine, too, it's not like it blocks anything off, everything is still clear, so it's not exactly "in the way."
I was a little disappointed by its capacity, it only holds four cards (it's rated for two, I think, but I can fit my health insurance card, ID, and two debit cards in with trouble, though I definitely can't fit anything else in there). Honestly, though, I don't need much else with me - I mean, gift cards fit in a pocket just fine, the really important stuff stays with my phone where I know I'll always have it, everything works out!
Plus it looks frickin' rad when you pull out your phone, flip it over, and open a secret door with your card in it. It's so simple but it looks so dang stupid awesome cool because no one expects it. Like, c'mon.
The material its made out of is rubbery enough to feel like it would protect it good enough except for some of the more severe incidents. Its not very grippy which can be good and bad. Its very easy to get out of the pocket but it has trouble gripping surfaces if you try to prop it up on or against something while watching a video for example. The card holder is very cool in design but could benefit from a more quality build. It does the job so far but the sliding door is very cheap and chinsy. Ive been able to fit in a drivers ID, debit card with raised numbers and about '3' 20 dollar bills folded properly.
The case isnt bulky or thick by any means however I kind of wish they would have extended the back out just a bit if only to fit maybe 2 more cards in there. For an example of the quality of the cheap door piece you can easily fit more than the amount I said before but the door will be bulging out past the frame resulting in an uneven back.
The only thing it covers on the case are the power and volume buttons. The headphone jack, Charging port and the S-Pen are all exposed. The S-pen is pretty easy to remove as well which is nice.
Also for anyone who missed the Q&A the speaker is a bit misaligned with cut out resulting in a slight muffling sensation to the sound but that can easily be remedied with a dremel or file and elbow grease.
I like it so far but I plan on searching a bit more for the perfect wallet case as this leans a little to much towards the cheap side for what I want.
vs Otterbox: This case is definitely thinner and more manageable than Otterbox cases (and much cheaper!) and stores the 2 credit cards which the Otterbox cases don't do.
Build Quality and Protection: I feel the build quality is very high. It feels sturdy and looks very slick. I got the Damda Dark Silver and have dropped my phone on accident a few times without incident or even visible scruffs to the case itself. I have an InvisibleSHIELD Glass full front body screen protector on my Note 4. Combined with the raised sides, this offers very good protection to the phone, it looks super awesome and it is still very easy to use and comfortable to hold.
Pros:
Don't have to carry a wallet
Good feel/size
Cons:
Cards can be tough to remove (minor)
The grey color is painted on which means as it rubs off it makes white wear marks that are extremely noticeable. Molding the plastic out of the correct color would avoid this and make it look clean/new for years rather than months.
I still love the ability to carry cards in my case without bulk and think this is the best version out there right now.
