+ No battery! I hate that I have to constantly put new batteries in my beats to even be able to hear music. Who's idea was that anyway?
+ Super comfortable (fits my fat head with a gentle pressure at the temples). I wear these all day and I NEVER have muffin ears when I take them off. When I wore beats this long I would get immense pain on my earlobes that persisted for a while.
+ No need for noise cancelling when they muffle sound so well
+ built in Mic works a charm when using this with my phone
+ Amazing build quality
- The plug sometimes can come out from the headphone side and you might not get an indication its out, so you end up cranking up the volume only to discover the plug had come out a little. Bleeding ears test complete.
All in all these out perform the First Gen Beats by a mile. I understand the newer Beats probably fixed the issues I mentioned here, but I am only comparing what I own, not a sheet on a website.
Thank you for reading my review!
I've read from many reviewers that the Street by 50 did not have the brain throbbing, skull pounding bass like the Beats by Dre. And I agree that it did not sit on the same level as Beats by Dre when it came to the bass, but I found it better to have less bass than Beats by Dre. I used to listen to music through my friend's Beats and I soon began to realize that the bass was too overpowering, it was drowning out the mids and the crisp highs that my ears were craving. Although the thumping bass might sound amazing when you listen to it for the first time, when you start to listen through your music, you'll probably notice that the sound is not balanced and there is just too much bass to have a comfortable listen. However, the Street by 50 definitely did not focus on the ear-popping bass that the Beats by Dre had, but instead evened out the bass along with the mids and the highs to satisfy not only the hip-hop/dubstep spectrum of listeners, but also all audiences ranging from classical to rock n roll. I was very satisfied with the fact that Street by 50 had not gone the ill-fated path of Beats by Dre, instead putting quality mechanism into the headphones to deliver the satisfying bass along with the sharp highs.
Another complaint I've taken note of from many unsatisfied customers or just simply haters, was that the build was flimsy, it looks like it would break easily, it's made from plastic, they're too light, etc.
Let me address to all of you right now that these headphones are the FARTHEST THINGS from breaking easily or being frail. Street by 50 are made from ultra-flexible polymer plastic.Read more ›

Audio Quality (Advantage STREET): Where STREET may lack some of the skull-shaking mid-bass as the Beats, many will see this as an ultimate positive insofar as the trade-off is better reproductive accuracy and clarity. While few will be left wanting in terms of bass, STREET certainly delivers on this front, it seems clear that SMS Audio and 50 were acutely aware of one of the biggest knocks on the 'granddaddy' of this music mogul-inspired/endorsed headphones arena, and sought to directly address it.
Noise Cancellation (Advantage Beats): STREET suffers here in contrast. Beats enjoy battery (AAA) driven active noise cancellation that is immediately apparent and very effective from the moment you turn it on. STREETs passive cancellation just don't hold a candle to it, and the end result is that you're a little less immersed when listening in an otherwise hostile (audio-wise) setting.
Build Quality/Comfort (Advantage Beats): I find this area to be a bit of a wash, though I'll give a slight edge to the Beats for two reasons. (1) The Beats have metal slides that result in much more smooth and precise movement as one opens and/or closes (expands and/or contracts) the size of the headset. (2) The Beats fold into a smaller profile for carrying or storage, STREET does not. They are both comfortable on the ear and around the head, both aesthetically pleasing in their own right.Read more ›
1. These headphones leak a lot of sound.
2. The earcups and foam pads are round, and their size/shape leads to these headphones resting ON your ears rather than OVER them at times.
These are great headphones if you can find them under $60, but I they are not a good buy if they are over $80, and definitely not a good buy at regular MSRP.
