I got this item as a first time product for my old style controller, after updating the controller via xbox settings it worked quickly with no issues. Several days into use i was having problems connecting appropriately to the chat where we could hear/see the other talking but wouldn't get and sound on the other end. This went if i spoke my team couldn't hear as well as when they spoke i couldn't hear. Tried another update and it seemed to fix it for the time being.

Overall the sound occasionally cuts out or goes static, not unbearable but annoying. My biggest complaint is that the chat and game balance buttons don't work, if i press either one the whole chat/game volume will increase and decrease together so i find myself messing with in game settings more that i would have liked with the adapter having this feature. Being an off brand that i didn't realize prior to purchase i got what i expected, would likely upgrade to name brand next time if i need another though.

I really enjoy this product. I've had this for about 3 weeks now and it hasn't broken or stopped working. I've been looking for a headset for a long time because I thought mine was broke but turns out I needed an adapter! I would say its a little pricey just for this but overall its really good and now I am able to chat with my friends. I will say it was samaller than I thought so if you have any little siblings make sure you don't lose it!

Works but has some quirks

This adapter does allow you to connect your headset and overall it works, but it has some issues. I've been using it daily for 2 weeks on the xbox. The buttons for Game volume vs Chat volume do not work. They did work the first day, but stopped working independently of each other. Now, regardless of which one you select, it increases/decreases BOTH chat & game volume together. This is frustrating as now you have to go to your in-game settings to decrease game volume.

The bigger problem I have is that I have other gamers that I pair with that say they get feedback when they talk when I am connected. If I hit Mute, the feedback (echo) stops. If unmuted, they get some echo. It is not my headset as I've tried a couple with the same result and the boom mic is well away from the earpiece so it should not be picking up any loop. But even this problem is intermittant. Some days (most) the echo occurs. But sometimes when playing with the same group on a different day, they say there is no echo.

I will likely be going back to the Turtle Beach brand adapter as I have had better luck with it.

Buttons don't work but headphone jack does

It plugged in easily and the sound quality was really good but none of the buttons on it work. I can't mute, change volume, or change game/chat mix. Its default volume is really loud and I can't change it when it's plugged in. Overall if everything worked it's worth it's $60 price tag but if these buttons don't work then it's just an auxiliary to mini HDMI converter which is NOT worth $60.

Absolutely awful. I have used 3 different headsets with the adaptor and it’s extremely staticky.
You’re better off buying a controller that has a 5mm headset plugin.
Seriously a waste of money. I wouldn’t recommend these for the enemy team in any game. They’re that bad.
