ATTENTION: This unit is only suitable for one type of lithium battery, It is 12V Lithium(LiFePO4) only, Other types of lithium battery does not support.
BATTERY TEST (Lamp 1): After connecting to the power supply, press Mode button to select appropriate battery charging mode. After connecting to battery, the charger will automatically detect the battery performance. In normal status, the battery will enter stage 2 in 4 seconds. 6V and 12V lead-acid batteries lower than 3.5V or 12V lithium batteries lower than 4V are invalid and beyond handling.
DESULPHATION: Detects sulfated batteries. Pulsing current and voltage, removes sulfate from the lead plates of the battery restoring the battery capacity (Only available in lead-acid battery mode).
SOFT START: Initial battery test to determine battery condition. If the battery is severely discharged, the charger will begin the Soft Start stage. Charging starts with reduced current until the battery voltage reaches a normal charge.
BULK: Major charging stage where the battery receives the majority of its charge. During this stage the battery is brought up to 75-80% of its charge. The battery charger delivers maximum current until the terminal voltage has risen to full charge level for normal battery.
ABSORPTION: Completes the charge up to virtually 100% at a constant voltage. The current tapers off when the current reaches the minimum level.
ANALYSIS: Tests if the battery can hold charge. Batteries that can not hold charge may need to be replaced(Fault LED is solid red), Only available in lead-acid battery mode.
PULSE: Maintaining the battery at 95-100% capacity. The charger monitors the battery voltage and gives a pulse when necessary to keep the battery fully charged (Only available in lead-acid battery mode).

The ONLY shortcoming with this product is that you MUST select the mode BEFORE you connect to the battery. Meaning, the charger must be plugged-in to AC power and NOT connected to the battery in order to select the Mode of: Motorcycle, Car, Winter, 6v-Fast or 12v Lithium. Once the Mode is selected, connect-up the battery and you're done. If you connect to the battery BEFORE you apply AC power, the Mode selector doesn't work (and no charging occurs). The good news is that once the Mode is selected, removing the AC power (or a power outage) doesn't lose the Mode setting... so long as the charger remains connected to the battery. Besides that small annoyance, it seems to be a good charger.

we don't drive as much, esp one car, so I got this charger/maintainer to extend the life of the battery. it is a few years old, but was still functioning just fine.
The obvious typo on the packaging "Professiona Smart Battery Charger " made me a bit nervous, went back read the reviews which seemed ok, then read the instructions carefully, as I always do, monitored it after a few hours and it seemed okay, though it spent only a few seconds on the desulfation step, which I found strange, esp since the main reason I purchase this was to repair/extend the life of the battery.
left it overnight, in the morning, the entire garage smelled of sulfur, the battery was very hot, and the car would no longer start.
had to purchase a new battery... out $200, not happy at all
sulfur sure does stink and took two days to air out, but at least I am glad that there was no other damage/fire/explosion.
My desire was to individually top off a bank of eight(8) lead-acid 360Ah deep cycle 6V batteries in storage, to avoid winter freeze damage. I bought four(4) of these chargers so that it would only take 2 days (not 8 days) to do that. This charger is unusual in that it delivers about 5.5A into 6V batteries. Most small and inexpensive 12V/6V battery charger/maintainer products prominently advertise their 12V charging current (say 4A), and neglect to mention that they only deliver 1A into 6V batteries. So this charger is fairly unique in that respect. But it cannot deliver 1A into 6V if you want to do that. Also, there appears to be no way to contact the manufacturer via website, phone, or e-mail, so their stated "2 year warranty" is worthless, and I deduct 1 star for that reason. One charger arrived in a special test mode which blinked all the lights on every 2.5 seconds, could not make it work properly, so sent it back to Amazon, and they promptly replaced it. Overall I am very happy with this product for my unusual application.
Did quite a bit of research to land on this model. Specifically needed it for some 12v Lithium Batteries. Worked perfect. Fully topping them off. Tempted to buy another just as a spare.
I use it to keep my riding mower battery charge. It has a cut-off to prevent over-charge and it's really convenient Also used it to charge my car battery one day ,it charges real fast. Love this product
