So when a friend recently suffered a devastating loss I thought one of her books would be helpful. This is written together with James Van Pragh.
Maybe I missed something in the description or other reviews but I had no idea the book was just a series of paragraphs summarizing an idea , not regular narrative style I was expecting. The kind of little book you can flip to any page and read the tip, not read sequentially.
Much of the advice on any of the pages IS unique and helpful, particularly " What you think is the end, is merely the beginning", and "The Soul's True Nature is not of the Earth'', and practical tips to connect with your loved one or different ways to perceive life and death. A few of them are more obvious and the kind of thing you'd read anywhere (let your feelings out, ask for help, etc).
I just wish I had known the format in advance..otherwise it does have enough useful tips to be worth the purchase.
Even though this book deals with grieving over the loss due to a death of a loved one, I found that the passages on each page can also be applied to those who are grieving over a relationship that has ended and they're unable to crawl out from under the rock. Grief after all transcends just death. I would recommend this as a beautiful gift to someone who is having a hard time continuing on with life on any level including after the death of a loved one. If you're a happy camper, then you may not find much draw with this book. It's still nice to have in case you are ever faced with feelings of grief.
If you have suffered a loss, this is the book to assist you on your journey of healing.
