In this book Dr North discusses what role Christians should play in international relations. He makes the valuable point that believers should strive to Christianize their own nations, and reach out to believers in other nations. Missionaries and Christian-minded business people will do more to bring about world peace, by uniting believes as part of the one true Church, than will humanist-minded diplomats. The ultimate goal of Christians vis-a-vis international relations is to form Christian nations which form an international commonwealth as part of the Kingdom of God.
I do have two quibbles with this book. One is that it is somewhat outdated. When it was published the greatest threat to world peace was communism as led by the Soviet Union. Of course, Dr North had no way of knowing that just a few years after he wrote this that the USSR would collapse. An updated edition of Healer of the Nations, stressing today's greatest threat to world peace--radical Islam--would be most welcome. The Second problem is Dr North's erroneous belief that the Roman Catholic Church is Christian, that it is just another denomination, rather than being a cult teaching a false gospel.
