Just finished the book. Up until now I did not fully understand functional health perspectives. Mainly because all of them go against everything we were taught growing up. Getting the whole picture brings everything into a clear picture and the smartassm helps it grab a place in the memory. I think the author did a great job. It is very impressive all around. The quotes added salt to it and jokes added spice. No sugar in this book though!
PS. Read the book as the author recommends! Reading a chapter then flipping to the back for the explanation helped sew it together for me.
Greatest book out their if you are really serious about changing your life! Changing your health to better eating habits, exercise, sleep, and Quiet time! I’m making that change to live longer and healthier. Read the book; it’s all there.
I recommend this book to those who want to achieve their health goals but are unsure of how to navigate the minefield of misinformation that plagues our world today. And to those that are used to reading for confirmation, the sarcastic method the author uses keeps you thinking of how maybe you should be reading to observe the things you don't do.
The book is written in an easy to read format with great advice to help you make the dietary & lifestyle changes in order to achieve optimal health. It also offers great resources to help further your education and avoid government/big pharma misdirection!
When was the last time your were entertained while learning about health? This book not only allows you to build your competency in taking your health into your own hands, it makes you laugh while doing it. Highly recommend.

Great perspective and insight for approaching health & fitness, while providing a view point for seeing through the gimmicks, myths and status quo that often surround health related conversations. A really informative, thought provoking and entertaining read.
