If you LOVE quinoa, there's a lot here. If you're on the fence about it, it's worth a try. A Kindle book takes up no room on your cookbook shelf and the price is right too. Just don't expect it to convert you if you're not already a fan.
The recipes in this book are so well put together and so enticing, I ordered some bulk quinoa and will be diving into test drive Nicki's recipes.
I liked the way that Nicki personalized her recipe book. The stories she shared about her childhood growing up on the farm and her experiences with quinoa in Ecuador helped me understand her interest in this topic.

My only critical comment is that one cannot advance to a specific recipe from the table of contents. One needs to scroll through all the pages to get to a specific recipe. But TRULY I do NOT mind this slight inconvenience for such such an innovative cookbook.
There is a Kale Quinoa Salad that sounds amazing. Combines two excellent sources of nutrients in a beautiful dish with an Asian flair.
UPDATE: I made the Spicy Ginger Cookies (made with quinoa flour and flax seed flour). They were out of this world; my ten year old daughter devoured them. I have a couple tips: You might want to add just a touch more ground ginger if you like more of a ginger punch. Also, the recipe calls for (optional) candied ginger. We got some, and we put in the recommended amount. Again, we are thinking we will put a bit more the next time we make these cookies. Regardless, these cookies are healthy (only half a cup of brown sugar) and they taste fantastic!
My experience of quinoa had been limited to it been a fairly plain add-in for salads and the occasional casserole. This book reveals that quinoa can be used for things like Granola, Pancakes, Muffins and Scones. It can be used for soups like chicken soup and minestrone. And then for mains this versatile grain can make tasty dishes like Quinoa Pilaf with Pine Nuts or Taco Quinoa Casserole followed by desserts like Quinoa Maple Date Pudding or Quinoa Apricot Oat Clusters.
The recipes all use healthy but well known ingredients. The instructions are clear and precise. I would have loved some pictures of these enticing recipes but will certainly be using this book often.
