International Addresses: Magazine subscriptions offered at Amazon.com can only be shipped within the 50 United States, APO/FPO address and U.S. Protectorates. We are unable to process magazines to other destinations at this time. Please contact the magazine's publisher for further assistance.

When to Expect Your First Issue: Magazine subscriptions ordered at Amazon.com are shipped to you by the magazine's publisher. The first issue of a weekly magazine should arrive within 4-6 weeks of your order. The first issue of a monthly magazine should arrive within 6-10 weeks, unless otherwise noted.

Once you've placed an order at Amazon.com, it can take one to two weeks for your subscription to be received and scheduled by the publisher. Your subscription is then added to the publisher's next production cycle and shipped via standard mail. For example, if your monthly subscription was ordered and received by the publisher in November, and the December issue has already shipped, your order may be added to the January mailing. You can find out more information, including how to contact the publisher about your subscription, in Amazon's Magazine Subscription Manager.

Renewing Your Subscription: If you are ordering as a renewal to the same name and address as the current subscription, the publisher will add the Amazon order to your current subscription. Please note that the expiration date in the Magazine Subscription Manager will not reflect if you were already on file with the publisher. We will work with the publisher to ensure that you still receive all of the issues left on your subscription.

Product Description

Car and Driver is for the auto enthusiasts and in-market car buyers, providing thorough evaluations and road tests across all segments of vehicles, as well as information on technology, motorsports, gear and industry news.

Amazon.com Review

Car and Driver Magazine provides the information you need when purchasing a new vehicle or finding information about an older model. As one of the leading car publications on the market, the magazine features a mixture of articles on maintenance, comparison shopping, and accessories that help consumers become informed before shopping.

One of the more common features found in Car and Driver Magazine is the road test segment, which sends vehicles onto a test course. Drivers rate the vehicles based on performance in a series of different conditions, including driving in rain, on asphalt, and on the open road. The writers also review a variety of newer cars, providing in-depth descriptions of the interior, body, and other factors you need to know. The magazine even has exclusive deals with some manufacturers, giving the writers the chance to share news and information that others magazines cannot.

Car and Driver Magazine has a wide fan base due to its large full-color images of vehicles found inside. Some of the images are of vehicles not yet available to the public, giving readers the chance to see what upgrades and changes manufacturers made. Each edition also includes a few helpful articles geared toward car enthusiasts, including articles on basic maintenance, issues relating to newer models, and any recalls that manufacturers issued regarding specific vehicles.

A subscription to Car and Driver Magazine gives you the chance to research your next car before you buy and to check out the newest models before those vehicles hit the market.

3.0 out of 5 stars Used to be a great mag... August 12, 2007
Subscription Term Name:1 year
Unfortunately, when Csebra...Casasba....Csabsbreaedads, er, forget it, Editor CC took over the reigns, the quality of the mag dropped with it. Readers letters, specifically those with constructive criticism, are often met with sarcastic, child-like responses. There was many a time when I agreed with a reader's letter, only to read CC shoot it down. Where is this man's humility?

The pictures and layout are still good. Some of the covers promise what looks to be an in-depth article, only to find out inside that it's a one or two page affair. All the US car magazines are swamped with ads, keeping our copy price down, the latter of which is nice. But after 16 years of subscription, I chose not to renew in March. I've been looking at recently resurrected Road and Track, and they have really changed their publication from stodgy old-fart affair to a modern, informative read.

Car and Driver doesn't need a new layout. It needs better management.

1.0 out of 5 stars Manufacture Biased Identity Crisis February 6, 2008
Subscription Term Name:1 year
C&D was once entertaining, witty, objective and a great read. The staff worked well together and they put out a consistently good magazine. Then it went through some rough years where it got kind of tame and boring. Now, it's an ill fitting mix of new and old writers trying to be fresh and hip while being spoon fed by the car manufactures. The magazine lacks consistency, focus and any sort of clear vision as to what they're about.

C&D mostly seems to print what the biggest manufactures want them to. There have been several articles lately, such as on the new Nissan GT-R and Corvette ZR1, that literally mirror articles in other magazines even featuring some of the same quotes from the same car execs. You might as well go to the manufacture's websites and read their press releases.

There has been a lot of inconsistency in C&D's reviews. One car will be rave reviewed, and 4 issues later, will place near the bottom of a multi-car comparison test. The impression is very much whichever manufacture spends the most on ads, dinners, drinks, and other gratuities, gets top billing regardless of the quality and performance of their vehicles.

Some of the writing is entertaining, but that's offset by the same tired editors (Csere, Bedard, et al.) who largely keep writing the same stuff they've been whining about for a decade or three. The end result comes off as heavily biased, anything but objective, and an awkard mix of writing styles.

My suggestion: Save some trees and just skim the C&D website for their rare entertaining exclusive article and get the rest of your automotive news somewhere else.

1.0 out of 5 stars What happened to this magazine ? March 16, 2011

Can barely contain my disappointment. Snarky mocking editors and perspectives that are simply not helpful or even interesting - I went back to C and D and could not have been more disappointed

1.0 out of 5 stars This used to be a good mag March 3, 2014
Subscription Term Name:1 year
Haven't read this in a decade and picked it up 'on sale' but I don't even read it anymore and definately won't renew. Thankfully my kids can use it at school for the car pictures in art class. The editors' attitudes and political leanings made me think this was a Fox property --- I don't need Obama bashing and tea party sentiment with my car reviews, thank you very much. The responses to the letters to editor are churlish and snarky. The writing is mediocre and the coverage is biased --- of the last 5 issues 4 have been about the Corvette. Before that it was a few on the Mustang. My suggestion would be to can the staff and start over and do 6 issues a year plus their year end wrap-up. They seem to have too much time on their hands and not enough to write about.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Choice May 14, 2012
Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
I purchased this as a gift for my boyfriend and he loves it! He's always spitting out facts and having me read articles about upcoming projects in the car world. If your guy is into reading about technical stats, future plans, and looking at pictures of beautiful cars, this is the magazine for him!

Subscription Term Name:1 year|Verified Purchase
Car and Driver is the magazine that I turn to when I want to know the real story behind a car. Some of their compeititor magazines, claim to be about cars, but then all I find inside are cars that I will never see in America and that I couldn't afford if I did find one.

Car and Driver was made to talk to the people of America who aspire to pay a lot of money to drive something that is better than our rusting Geo Metro's. Their pictures and poetic words tell stories of the better life. The life where we all drive 3-Series BMW's or where we take our Shelby Cobra's to the track for the weekend. Yet they also acknowledge and relate to the fact that most of us drive to and from work with a large number of french fries lying below our seats.

While this magazine might not be enough to defeat sharks with freaking lasers; I can promise you that it will be enough to make you an educated consumer and dreamer. You will learn to wait by the mail box eagerly awaiting your monthly fix like myself and every other happy subscriber.

Long time Car&Driver fans know this magazine has always provided easy intel to find on all featured vehicle. They do a nice job of covering auto's, pick 'em up trucks, suv's and sports car of every genre! Only bummer is you read each mag in a few hours. I pass mine on to my son who appreciates reading the mag!
